Gotta Love This Time Change!!!!! LOL!!!

Post by Dee »

Hi All!!
Anybody else up this early this morning.. I jumped out of bed at 4:05 am!!!
Soooooooo!!!! Grabbed my cuppa coffee and into the computer room I came...
Doing real good MC wise and taking it one day at a time.
Had a great time taking my Granddaughter, Taylor, to see the biggest pumpkins that I have ever seen in my life!! A math teacher in our area grew pumpkins that weigh between 500 and 1,000 pounds. So, I told hubby that I gotta see these things.. We picked up Taylor and off we went to a small farm that has a pond behind it. Pulled up, got out of the van and Taylor's eyes were big as saucers!!!!! She grabbed ahold of my hand and the first thing out of her mouth was, Grandma, I'm not getting into one of those things.. LOL!!!! If we would have lifted her into one, we wouldn't have been able to see her...
It drew a large crowd of people and they were letting whoever wanted to, get in them and some had oars to paddle across the pond and two of them had trolling motors on them!!! WHAT A HOOT!!!!!!
This teacher also grows 300 pound watermelons!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wish now that I would have grabbed some of the pumpkin seeds....
After leaving there we came back home and had a great time carving 3 pumpkins with my little darling... Messy, but lots of fun!
This afternoon is our trick or treat and I can't wait to greet all of the little ones that come knocking on our door!!!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!!!!!!

Love

Image Happy Halloween everyone!

Hi Dee,

I was also up at the crack of dawn! I'll know it come evening and I can't stay up as late as usual!

Your day sounds like loads of fun! We have Jordan for a few hours this morning. She can be a wild 3 year old but we still have fun! Kinda hard keeping up with her but Larry is here to help!

It's cold (34) here this morning and I'm waiting on the sun to melt the frost on the windshield so that I can pick up a few things at the store - thinking about making some chili. Larry's gonna have to help open cans because of this dumb wrist.

Getting better from the fall on Thursday. My neck is still sore (didn't realize how much a head can weigh!) Sounds kinda like a Halloween horror story, don't it!? LOL I'm still being very careful with the knee too. I twisted it when I fell so it is still swollen but getting better. I have a doctor's appointment Monday morning.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day! I have some things to do but it looks like Larry is going to be the one "doing" them! LOL Laundry and some straightening up around here - you sure can tell when I'm laid up! Poor Larry - he don't know what he's in for today! hahahahhaa

Dee,

Wow! Those are some pumpkins! That had to be a very interesting trip.

It's good to see that you're doing so well now, MC-wise.

Love,

Mars,

You'd need a walk-iin cooler. LOL. I'll bet they're good to eat. There's really no reason why they wouldn't be.

Hey, it's good to see that you're feeling better. After he finishes today's chores, I'll bet that Larry will be glad when you're back to normal. LOL.

Hiya Dee!

Those big pumpkins are fun! Our local garden shop has one weighing just under 1200 pounds, and there is another one weighing in at 736 lbs. that is sitting on a scale. The dial on the scale is covered up so that you can try to guess the wt. and then remove the cover to see for sure.

Glad to hear the MC is in good control. Shhhh....I'll say no more since Norman is so easily spooked! LOL!

Mars, I'm happy to learn that you are coming along. You'll probably be healed by the time you get to the doc.

Love,

Polly

My Great Uncle Charlie used to grow pumpkins like that! Several years ago, we had a family reunion with that side of the family (his wife was my grandmother's sister) and his grandkids all had t-shirts that said "my grandpa is the pumpkin man".

They are something!

I am enjoying having that extra hour today. So far, I've slept in, gone for a walk in the woods, and stacked wood. Now I'm procrastinating on doing some homework, and then this evening we are going to go down and get the kids dressed up in their costumes and take them over to Geoff's mom's so she can see them because she is having surgery on her broken arm tomorrow. Poor thing has to wait until 3pm for her surgery!
