Pie crust
I just wanted to share this. I bought some frozen pie crusts at Whole Foods, their brand. Last weekend I made a topless apple pie and it was very good. I haven't tried making my own yet, but thought this would be so much easier if it was good. I was pleasantly surprised.

Apple pie does sound good...........I'm scared of the crusts and I certainly have never been a 'baker' to make my own crust but what I have tried a couple times now is Dee's crustless apple pie in the crockpot. OMG that is delicious! It's that time of year for the apples at the apple farms.......my mom also has a recipe for microwave applesauce that is delicious.

Hi,
A little tip if you attempt to make your own gluten free pie crust is that after you chill the pie dough and roll it out
between 2 pieces of siran wrap, place the rolled out dough, still between the siran, on a cookie sheet and put it in
the freezer for about 10-15 minutes. Gluten free pie dough is very fragile so freezing it a bit really makes a big difference
when placing the bottom and top crust on your pie.
I'm pretty sure that I posted my pie crust recipe in Dee's Kitchen. I use it all of the time.
I have never checked out the Whole Foods GF pie crust. Is it GF/DF/SF?????

Hi Dee,
Thanks for the tip. Yes, your GF/DF/SF pie crust recipe is in Dee's Kitchen. Here's a link:

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

I just posted another pie crust recipe in Dee's Kitchen. We made GF/DF pies for a friend's daughter who was having an old-fashioned pie reception for her shabby chic wedding two weeks ago. It was sooo good!! We did the sweet version as the pies we made were pumpkin and apple. It didn't do very well going on top of the apple (it tore) but that may be because my 17yo did that one. I'll see if I have better luck with it next time.
