checking in
Good Morning All,
Its been a while since I have checked in. I wanted to let you all know that I am well on my way to being "normal" again :-) I was finally told that I have Celiac, which made a lot of since. SO I am now Gluten free and mostly dairy free as well, and doing much better. I have flare ups once in a while but for the most part I m doing good.
Im hoping the holidays dont make things bad again.
Hope you all are doing well as well!!
Thanks for everything,
Dawn

Hi Dawn,
It's good to hear that you're doing so well. More and more members are turning up with a diagnosis of celiac disease in addition to MC. I have a hunch that GI specialists are beginning to pay closer attention because of all the public focus on gluten issues, so they don't stop looking after an initial diagnosis. Instead, they're beginning to spend more time checking to see if the other disease is also present.
Thanks for the update,
Tex

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
From one Celiac to the other...that is great news! I hope you continue to improve. Do you have your bloodwork results still? Just curious about your Anti-gliadin IgG levels. I believe mine was 12.5 and it's supposed to be under 4.4 I think. Is that considered super high? Thinking I have a ways to go before getting those levels down. However my anti-gliadin IgA was in the normal range. And so was my anti-tissue transglutaminase. Anti-endomysial showed positive.
Sometimes I just need to correspond with another Celiac. I only know of one other on this forum that has it.
Thanks,
Terri

IMHO the "other disease" is the same disease, but the "experts" are still not able to admit it yet. So they play with semantic definitions and dx criteria rather than recognize the obvious truth. Gradually more and more people can see the "emperors' have no clothes.Instead, they're beginning to spend more time checking to see if the other disease is also present.
Best, ant
