Congrats Leah! When I first came on board, you really seemed so educated and you helped me a lot. You should be very proud of yourself! So many knowledgeable people on here....I feel so lucky to have found this forum.
Best of luck in your future endeavors! Such an accomplishment along with perseverance with your diet after being diagnosed with MC. Definitely an inspiration.

Leah, mazal tov as we say! Great achievement. I am so sure you will have a gazillion people wanting your help once they figure out what you know.
I know about studying/teaching for exams. I used to tell my students - this answer will help you pass your boards. This is what you should do when you practice.

Congratulations Leah, I thought about going back to school for nutrition, but it would be difficult for me to answer the questions in their methods after going holistic fifteen years ago. A college professor told me years ago just use the information from the book to answer the questions. What you do with that knowledge after you complete the course is your choice. Jon
Wonderful news, Leah!
Like Tex, I have long been concerned about the "official" recommendations for a healthy diet. I still can't get over that pyramid that recommended 6-11 servings of grains/day. YIKES. And I believed it - it was during that diet that I developed my MC. It is reassuring to know that you will be out there spreading the word about what REALLY constitues a healthy diet.
I envision a future where nutritionists devise diets based upon the patients' individual genomes. And maybe, someday, even being able to alter gene expression.
Congrats!
Hugs,
Polly
P.S. I was saddened that prop 37 failed in CA. We all need to keep carrying that non-GMO flag - I believe it could be a matter of life and death for someone like me, who has so many sensitivities. If agribusiness modifies the few foods I can safely eat, I am in big trouble. Seriously.

Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused.
Dear Leah,
Congratulations!
Wishing you all the best, ant
Congratulations!
Now you have passed, you may have a touch of credibility to question the status quo with what is true.It was very hard for me to answer some of the questions the way they wanted me to because it's not what I believe, but I had to to pass the test. Not only was it contradictory to what i believe to be true about IBDs, but also the nutrition basics were not what I "preach" either as a trainer. WAY TOO MUCH EMPHASIS ON GRAINS!
Wishing you all the best, ant

Congratulations!! You are a one-stop combination for those trying to stick to a GF diet and lose weight. Several friends read "Wheat Belly" and have gone GF. As we all know, if you don't exercise you will be thin but flabby. As I get older this is becoming more evident. I wish you lived in my neighborhood!!

CONGRATULATIONS! Leah.
Is would seem so hard to have to use "book" answers to pass the test but you have to do what they expect. Now that you are certified pick your own path and I am sure you will be a great assest to many people.
Love, Maggie

Leah,
I will ditto everyone here.....CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!....you have been a wealth of information to me as well. I, like Sheila(I believe it was) would like to be living near you. I would pay for those services. I struggle so hard with trying to make the correct combination of foods...i.e. carbs vs protein. I avoid the sweets now (except once a week treat) but I continue to struggle with keeping the weight off that I lost. I'm exercising on bike in LR, yoga now 2 times a week......still keep creeping up a little more. UUUGGGHHH..............I've seriously considered seeing a nutritionist but am afraid they will not get the GF stuff for my diet. People like you are a hard find!!!!!!!!!! CONGRATS again!!!!!
