Celiac Disease, By Accident
Hi, Interesting article about celiac disease and the potential trigger mechanisms that start gluten intolerance. "Celiac Disease, By Accident-Living Without Article " http://www.livingwithout.com/celiac_dis ... 106-1.html Jon
My uncle-in-law developed severe gluten intolerance after open heart bypass surgery and serious complications (including a systeminc e.coli infection). I wonder if it has more to do with the new bacteria he picked up in the hospital, not to mention all the antibiotics.
My good friend developed severe gluten intolerance after a hysterectomy. She already had chronic fatigue and hashimotos, but the surgery was the tipping point.
All that to say, I don't think it's entirely the stress of the trauma alone that triggers it.

Hi Zizzle, I have a friend who had a hip replacement. I ask him how long he would be in a rehab hospital. The doctor told him they would teach him the exercises in the hospital before they discharge him. The reason why no rehab hospital is because studies have shown that there is a high number of second surgeries because of a bacterial infection in the replacement from the rehab hospital. My friend had no complications. Jon
