CC and cartilage. any relation?

I'm wondering if the immune response to the collagenous layer in the colon that causes CC can also affect other body parts containing collagen.
Here's why:
I've had an mri which revealed 3 herniated disks in the thoracic area. 1 would be quite rare in that area and will typically be caused by a trauma like an accident. 3 is obviously even rarer!

I also have other issues concerning cartilage. several knee operations for a meniscus. And chronic inflammation of the wrist tendons.

my understanding is that all these parts have one common ingredient; collagen.

could there be a relation?

Interesting. I had the plica removed in my left knee and while in there they did a micofracture because the cartiledge was gone on the lower portion.

I have joint hypermobility syndrome or EDS-hypermobility type. It's caused by weak collagen. Most people with it suffer from GI issues. I think my chronically leaky gut is related. My daughter has it too and also has GI issues. The genes for EDS are on chromosome 6, where the HLA genes that lead to allergies and autoimmunity also originate, so they seem related genetically.
