flu shot?

Post by Nancy »

I scored 33 on egg on the Entero lab test. Would you advise I get or not get a flu shot?

I'm very reactive to eggs, but I've never had a problem with the flu shot. The shot reaction and the gut reaction apparently involve two different types of antibodies.

Hi Nancy,

I agree with Gloria. I think it's mainly an analphylactic-type reaction to eggs they are worried about and not the kind of gut sensitivity that we have. Of course, if eggs do give you itching, breathing trouble, rash, etc., then I would advise against the shot. In any case, just be sure to hang around the site where you get the shot for at least 20-30 minutes afterward to make sure you can be treated if you should happen to react. But I doubt that you will.

Hugs,

Polly

Ok, I got the flu shot this morning. They said that the egg thing was like Polly said, an anaphylactic reaction, not a gut one. It's been an hour and I'm still breathing fine :)
