I was just diagnosed with CC after having D for 6 weeks. My GI put me on entocort 3 for 6 weeks, 2 for 1 week and 1 for 1 week. I have gained valuable information from everyone. I have not yet been tested for gluten allergy but will be soon. I can clearly see that I need to be DF,GF,and SF. Thank you for so much information. I will definitely have more questions as time goes by. Thanks to all of you!

Hi Christina Kay,

Welcome to the group. The sooner you remove those foods from your diet, the better off you will be, because it takes quite a while for the intestines to heal, and if the diet isn't already at least beginning to heal the intestines when the Entocort is discontinued, your symptoms will almost surely relapse within a few weeks. The point is, the Entocort can mask the symptoms, and make life a lot more pleasant, but only diet changes can stop the inflammation from being regenerated after the medication is withdrawn.

It appears that only about half of us are sensitive to soy and all legumes, but sensitivity to gluten and dairy is almost universal for those of us who have MC.

Again, welcome aboard, and please feel free to ask anything.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
