Last Day of Freedom
Or at least mobile freedom...I;ve got my surgery tomorrow. I finished up at work on Friday so I could have today to putter around the house and get things ready. I've got SO many things I want to do before the end of the day! So, I'll not be around for a few...Likely in the hospital 2 to 4 days. My sister is coming Thursday-Sunday, then Geoff will take next Monday off from work so I'll have someone around for a full week. By then I should feel more stable and be ready to send them off to work so I can rest on my own.

Katy!
I can't believe the time has come. How are you feeling about it? I think you have made a very wise decision......nothing is worth risking your life for, and you have no guarantee that it would never happen again. And from what those here who have also had this surgery have said, it sounds like virtually all of them were happy and had no regrets.
You know that we will all be there in spirit tomorrow. And very anxious to hear how everything went. You are young and otherwise healthy and should do just fine with surgery and recovery. Do you have a stash of GF food to take with you?
I am waving my magic wand and sending lots of good vibes and thoughts up VT way!

Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused.
Hi Katy,
I bet you are glad to be getting this done and over! Good you are having someone there with you for a week after, and then you can rest with your fur babies. I'll be thinking of you!

Jaco, a parrot in Salzburg, could not only speak but seemed to understand grammar. Whenever his person left, Jaco would say "God be with you." But when several people were departing, Jaco would change it to "God be with all of you."

I can't believe the time for your surgery is here too! I had my surgery when I was 26, Mel was just 3 1/2 and being a real hugger, the first time she came to see me she ran and jumped on top of me to hug me. For her a real hug was laying on top of me and snuggling up to my boobies where it was nice and soft. However at the time this hug happened I think it knocked the wind out of me. I showed her my bo bo and after that she was my little helper when I got home. I can't believe that you are only going to be in the hospital 2-4 days, I was in for 8. But then they had to do allot of trimming because I had so many adhesions my bowels and my bladder were stuck to my womb, and they had to put my bladder back to where it was supposed to be. Yeah, it was an ouchy. I think maybe it was longer because I had to have a catheter in me for a week to give the bladder a rest. I would not recommend that TO ANYONE, my bladder kept going into spasms, and they wouldn't believe me till they seen it happen and it would leak onto the bedpad. It wasn't the spasm that was the worst, it was the fact that it was happening under the staples in my belly!!! But the bestest thing was after. It took me I don't know, 5-6 months before I thought 'Hey I don't miss the U NO WHAT'. Before the surgery, I basically had it most of the time, was swollen all the time and hormones were whacky, then a positive result from a pap, so so much got better after the surgery. They did go back in when I was 28 and take my only ovary, as it was not functioning the way it should have either, but the gyst of all the problems were corrected as soon as I had the hysterectomy.
I wish you the best, and for a speedy recovery. Take it easy, take the time to get well again, don't rush things. Just because the manuals say that it takes between this and that time, doesn't mean that will be exactly how your body works. Listen to your body and use it as your guide.
Gentle hugs
Wendy

"Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful." -- Buddha
