Taking apple cider vinegar

Post by JenniferS »

Well, since y'all are way more knowledgable and experienced than I , I'm sure you've either tried this, or perhaps will let me know of info as to why I should stop (which I would welcome if that is the case.)

But, on three doses of entercort and four-six peptos a day, I'm FINALLY beginning to see progress. Almost even normalcy. But, as my D wanes, I've developed extreme indigestion. I've found drinking a bit of apple cider vinegar with water helps. Thought I'd share in case anyone else is interested.

And happy Friday, all! I'm looking for a fun weekend with my family without the anxiety that used to come from leaving home. (My daughter asked me the other day if I was on some kind of happy pills because I've been so giggly-happy lately, but when you've missed something as simple as enjoying a day out with your family, to have that back feels like Christmas X 10!) And the best part is I may actually make it to visit family--my dad--this Christmas. (We had to cancel our Thanksgiving trip because I wasn't well.)

Hi Jennifer,

When I was taking Pepto I noticed some indigestion as well and honestly didn't know what to do about it. I thought I was probably reacting to some of the ingredients in it or because I was eating a lot more. I had thought about taking the apple cider vinegar so it's good to know that it helps. Now that I'm med-free, I will need to consider that if my heartburn/indigestion comes back. So thanks for sharing that! Have always wondered if it really worked. How much do you put in a glass of water? Does it taste okay?

Yes! Isn't it nice to go out and not have all that anxiety. I've been a very happy camper the last 3 months thanks to Pepto so I know how you are feeling. Having something less to worry about did a world of good for me. I wouldn't trade these last 3 months for anything. I'm hoping I'll still be feeling great in the next few weeks. I got so worried when I took my last Pepto that I had chest pains for 3 days....lol! I started dwelling on my chest pains so much that the thought of having my D come back completely left my mind. Doing well now. The less I dwell on something the better.

Have a wonderful Christmas with your family! Just remember, to stick 100% to your diet.

Apple cider vinegar is the best! But, you must use Braggs ACV. It has the "mother" in it (notice the murky looking bottom of the bottle). Braggs contains all the natural ingredients of ACV, unlike the other refined vinegars. If you are really having bad indigestion, some baking soda with the ACV helps immensely. I take ACV everyday. Google Braggs and you will find rave reviews on it.

Thanks, Tiras,

Since I'm still not fully recovered, and am only recently starting to feel better, I'm very cautious and add but a tiny bit of vinegar to water. I don't measure, sorry! Maybe a teaspoon?

Thanks, Desertrat! I'll look for that.
