I'll let the article speak for itself, but I thnk the Aussies have entirely missed the point of mistletoe...

It's been found 'down under' that mistletoe can be used to fight colon cancer.... It might just be me, but I thought mistletoe had a much different use.

All kidding aside it's amazing how they are finding these resources in such common places.
SOUTH AUSTRALIA, Australia (CBSDC) – Researchers at the University of Adelaide in Australia have found another purpose for mistletoe – apart from helping potential suitors steal kisses around the holidays.

Mistletoe could also be used to help the effectiveness of chemotherapy, or could even act as an alternative to chemotherapy for treatment of colon cancer, according to Newswise.

While I hope I don't have to use mistletoe for cancer treatment, it would beat chemo. As far as I know mistletoe is legal, marijuana is not in most states.

American mistletoe has no medicinal uses, only holiday folklore. Other forms of mistletoe grown aborad have myriad medicinal properties. I recently looked this up because a Guatemalan herbalist told my mother I should be using it, along with dandelion, plaintain weed, and others.
