Success with intermittent fasting....
Hi all,
I hope everyone enjoyed their Holidays with their families! I sure did. Wanted to just update you all on the success that I have been experiencing. After consulting with a NP, doing tons of research and reading, I decided to give intermittent fasting a try and am currently on day 6. I pretty much am skipping breakfast, eating my 1st meal between 12-1 and get in all of my calories within an 8 hour window of time. I am now taking no prescription meds, have between 1-3 normans a day and am feeling great. Of course I continue to eat good, clean foods but this plan is working for me.
Happy New Year to everyone. We are heading to Bostons first night out tomorrow around 12 and staying the night. Should be tons of fun!

I am glad to hear you've been doing so well, Cathy. I believe I've read in the past that others have eaten meals in an 8-hour window or something close to that. And... you're getting "normans"! Good for you! I eat very often (breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, snack, snack) and although I only go 2 times a day, it's still not "norman."
Glad to hear it's working for you.

That's great Cathy, Do you find it difficult to refrain from eating at other times? I find if I snack after dinner I have more noises. I still have an array of BMs that range from WD to almost Norman but my biggest clue right now is not being able to sleep as late as I'd like because I wake up early to use the bathroom and then I'm up for the day no matter how tired I am. For past month I wake between 4 and 4:30 AM for that reason. Some days if I lounge too long in bed I'm asking for trouble. It's pleasant start to the day if I'm able to be awake for at least a half hour before mother nature calls. I wonder if fasting like you would help? Mornings wouldn't be so difficult since I'm usually mildy nauseous and don't feel like eating anyway. Although by 9 AM my stomache is embarassingly loud. Everyone in the office is used to it but I deal with the public all day long and most the time I'm just too tired of it all to care what anyone thinks.
I'm happy you've found something that works.

My day starts very early, too. I start "going" anywhere from 4:30 to 5:30 a.m. I refuse to get up for the day before 6 but it is an exercise in frustration since I know I'll be up and down and unable to get back to sleep. I had been having mostly Normans, but a lot of them. Before all of the stress of moving, I was down to about 3 poops a morning. That number is up sharply the past month undoubtedly because of stress and a screwed up diet.
I don't eat anything after 6 p.m. most days. If I do eat later, it doesn't effect the time I have to start going to the bathroom. I don't think I could do the partial fast. I have to eat something small every few hours. If I eat even a little too much at one time, I get nauseous.
It's a truly crappy disease.

To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did.

For the 1st few days it was difficult but I find I'm not at all hungry in the morning anymore. I have my tea or water and that helps me. As far as evening, I work out anytime between 5:30-7pm so when I come home, I have my Post workout shake and snack, take care of my animals and by then it's time for bed, so no time for snacking!
