Hi, all (long time no see!)
Sorry to have ditched you all recently, work is a PITA!!!!
My recent promotion is going okay.. in fact, the gal "above" me quit, so I'm on my way to yet another promotion, perhaps sometime in the next 6 months.. my boss hasn't decided whether or not we will fill her shoes or just dump her work on me anyway.. ;)
Ex-husband update: the ex has been a complete PIG. Not only has he continued to take Hunter overnight on school nights (we don't have a written judge's order, so we really can't stop him), but he also lied about where he is living, who he is living with (Hunter finally cleared it up for us, and a Private Investigator!), AND lied about where he went on vacation! he took the kid out of school for 5 days, 3 of which he spent sitting at home with Bill, and then the other few he spent driving to Grand Forks, ND air force base. He was supposed* to go to Georgia to go to a wedding which he was supposed to be IN, which was why it was SO important for Bill to take Hunter out of school, etc.. He even had an affidavit from his friend who was marrying, who just happens to be a lawyer, and this affidavit said it would cause him due harm for me to keep Hunter from being there, as he would have to find a new ring bearer. BULL-HONKY - we busted him wide open. His son is too old to have him lying to us anymore.
Also, he hasn't paid his portion of daycare since July 2005. So quite a few months. His portion is about $57 a week, so that adds a good $200 to my monthly expenses. So we're paying HIS bills, and it's making it harder to pay OUR bills. Yeah, we could just NOT pay it. But eventually that results in getting kicked out of daycare. And I'm getting sick of finding new daycares.
November 15th is our first hearing date. It can't come fast enough. We hope that, since he's made no attempt to pay off his original debt to me in the divorce, which was all daycare money from our separation period, over a thousand worth, the court will decide he can't be respective of the order, and will order the money garnished from his paycheck (PLEASE!!!). We also hope for a rearranging of the schedule so Bill will not be taking Hunter overnight on school nights, and stick to every other weekend. He's pretty much dictating OUR schedule because he'll do what he wants, when he wants. Because he works (MUCH) less than we do, he is available to pick Hunter up much earlier from school. Frankly, I can't sacrifice my job to proove a point to him. I had a small victory a week ago when he wanted to take him THREE nights on a schoolweek and I put my foot down and said "pick TWO". He called me that day and taunted me at work, saying "If I go and pick him up, what you gonna do about it? You gonna call me up and scream?". I was like, "Bill. I"m working. I don't have time to play your game anymore. You do whatever you feel like doing. You will answer to this in court. You WILL answer to this in court." And I hung up. He called me some time later and said he'd "decided" to let me pick him up that night. LOL
Anyway, on to my health.. Since I've been seeing the chiro, things have much improved, but I'm having a downswing right now, and feeling pretty crappy. Found out last weekend that I'm down to 95 pounds (started out around 120), and I feel constantly like I'm fading away. Been taking vitamins, but I'm without currently, because we ordered them and they haven't shown up yet. I"m going to give the new vitamins a chance, and try to locate a "protein" shake I can take (would have to be free of milk AND soy products, which I haven't found yet) to increase my bulk. If that doesn't work, once again, heading to the Mayo.
I'm leery of the Mayo, however. We have a family friend who recently went there, similar symptoms to my own, not eating certain foods because they aggravate the situation, and they MADE her eat those things. Now, she may not have as severe a reaction, but if they were to make me eat gluten.. I'll tell ya.. I accidentally took 2 bites of a taco salad shell which was PARTIAL wheat and partial corn before realizing it contained wheat. I was sick for TWO WEEKS, but the worst was about a day later. Because I'd ingested it so long before, I of course couldn't BARF it out.. so instead it felt like it was literally going to kill me. I thought I was going to die. If they want to see that, God help them.. and me, I guess. I mean.. I wonder if they have an antedote they could inject me with???? Anyway, I'm scared to do that. Obviously..
so... how're all of you doing? I have a bit of extra time this weekend and now I have my own computer at home, so maybe I can try stop by here more :) but then.. I also thought that would happen after the second Tier 2 person was hired.. I've been BUSIER since that, strangely enuf.
Anyway, I've missed you all. Everytime things get strange with my health, I think of all of you and how long it's been since I've talked to any of you, and that sucks.
Also, update, it seems I can no longer tolerate corn kernels at all. I guess corn syrup and other corn dirivatives should probably be avoided too, but they don't seem to bother me AS much, in small quantities..
I'm just wondering how long till I'm allergic to rice. then I'm screwed..
Love,
Christine

Hi Christine,
It's great to see a post from you, again. We really appreciate an update, now and then. It's great to see that things are going so well at work, (other than all the time involved). Hopefully the court hearings will straighten out the problems with your ex.
The kids and the cars are lookin' great. Now, if you can just find a way to put some weight back on your frame. I hope you can find a protein drink that will work. They all seem to be made for "normal" people, or at least people with normal digestive systems. If you find one, please let us know, as we could all use something like that, once in a while.
The treatment at the Mayo, that you described, is pretty disturbing. I don't believe that I would want to be forced to eat gluten, either, unless they had an antidote that could promptly turn around a reaction. I seriously doubt that they have anything like that, however.
I hope you can post more often, and keep us updated.
Love,
Wayne

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Wayne,
My chiro, who has done more for me thank ANY doctor I've been to thus far, has her mind set on a liver cleansing program, to detoxify me. I'd imagine I'm pretty *intoxicated*.. cuz it seems that more and more things are bugging me these days. My reactions are getting more severe, even if they're fewer and farther between. I wouldn't say I'm in remission, but most times, when my back isn't bugging, I'm feeling pretty "normal". If I have even a TRACE of an allergen tho, I'm sent into bouts of "stomach on fire"-ness until I PRAY for puke. (and I don't usually pray)
Anyway, part of this liver cleansing is a rice-based protein drink that replaces many meals. It's only available thru the doctor tho. The company that makes it is Thorne Research and it's called MediClear. It is, basically, "nutritional support for inflammation, alergies, detoxification, and gastrointestinal integrity". Sounds good, right? $100. So I'm saving up for that. The point was, however, that they DO have a rice-based protein drink. I'll see if I can find another somewhere that's available to the public.
LOL. My son just said "the football hit me in the nutcrackers!" Wierdos.
Anyway, yeah, if the Mayo docs want me to be eating gluten, well, they better be ready for HELL. And they better have an escape route. (for me) But.. I fully intend to have a Vanilla Wafer should the occassion arise. Maybe a pizza if they want me to COMBINE allergens. Gawd. If they wanted to do a "tolerance" of each allergen separately, I'd be there for 2 weeks. The "friend of the family", she said she was made to eat the allergen for 2 days. Not sure if they made her eat a LOT of it or no.. I'd imagine they'd have a certain amount required. I'm going to bring Dr. Fine's tests and hope for the best. IF I go. Right now I'm hoping that won't have to happen.
Barb, go ahead and go off about it. Seriously. I can't believe it either. On top of it, we're *supposed* to have a court-appointed intermediary for issues like Hunter spending the night on a school night and such. This person, we're supposed to call, and she's supposed to "make the call", tell us which one of us the kid is supposed to stay with. We're assuming she'd pick us, because we live in the same town as school.
Anyway, this intermediary was a court order at our last hearing, and we've paid her, but Bill has not. And since she requires payment before she will talk to you, we can't use her. So again, he's winning on that avenue. But.. this all will be revisited in court. I have documentation of how much money he owes me for EACH daycare place he's gotten us kicked out of. I also have the amounts he still owes THEM, if any. Some are between $800 and $1000. Two, he never paid at all. But we have a court order from our divorce decree stating he owes me a certain percentage of Hunter's weekly rate in daycare, so bygolly he WILL pay.
Due to his obvious lack of respect for just an "order" to pay the money, likely they will garnish his paychecks, and I DIG that :). I'm sooo looking forward to that extra $200 in my account each month, and the smug look of satisfaction on my face whenever I exchange Hunter at the door with that good for nothing POS.
Anyway, I just keep thinking to myself.. November 15th.. November 15th.. November 15th.. it's not that far off now. Isn't it this wednesday? Or next? Anyway, soon enuf. I will have my revenge. Moo-hoo-haa-haaaaa!
BTW Barb, the pic on the bottom here is the Audi TT.. Peg's favorite car :) The BMW is pictured in the background of the first link to the TT page.. The BMW is pretty sweet but not as racy as the TT is.. We just tried a new wax and not only is it easy to apply, which is VERY important in my state, but it's the wet, deep shine I've been searching for.. So we photoshopped that one up. I love how it turned out.. all dark :)
Anyway, gotta go run some errands. I'll stop in later this evening!! Maybe to chat some.. anyone wanna be around?
Love,
Christine

Hey Christine! Glad to hear from you!
What a MESS! I'll be thinking about you when you go to court!!!
The boys are adorable and getting big! They sure don't stay small long, do they?
Glad you are feeling better these days. I've heard about cleansing of organs and other treatments in the chiropractic office that is different than the "normal - crack the neck variety". By working/manipulating certain parts of the body, they are able to reduce pain and relieve other symptoms and problems within those organs. I find that interesting. I hope you are able to continue in your progress! It must be a relief to be feeling so much better. You were quite sick there for awhile.
Hope you'll be able to drop in more often, I miss seeing your posts.

Hey Mars :)
Yeah, I didn't believe that that sort of thing could do any good for anyone until I saw how my gall bladder affected me.
Another factor is that I have a slight scoliosis. I wonder if any of you who experience actual abdominal *pain* have that sort of condition as well, because when I stay cracked by going about twice a week, and when I also maintain my stretches about 3 times a week at home, by using an exercise ball, and the back exercises that came with it (also a recommendation of the chiro), I feel great!
If I skip a chiro visit or a few back stretches and exercises, I start feeling crappy. When my back feels crappy, my stomach feels crappy. Seems to go hand in hand now. Anyway, I highly recommend both the chiro and the exercise ball and the back exercises that come with it. They rock. They're more effective than any other exercise "equipment" I've ever used. And I've used a lot.
I'm still fairly sick.. but I just have periods of "well being" nowadays. I desperately need to get my vitamins. The kind I'm using are special order cuz they're water-soluable and you absorb 96% of them (vs. normally 2-50% of regular vitamins in health food stores), plus we verified they have no additives that I'm allergic to, so I'm confident they won't be a source of pain for me. Unfortunately they come in packs of 5 pills and I have to take two packs a day! Yipes. I feel like a Jetson! Pop a pill in the micro and watch it become dinner!
Anyway, hopefully I'll be around in a bit for a chat.. like around 8pm central. Hopefully some peoples will be around!? I'd love to talk with you all.
Love,
Christine

Hi Christine
I've been wondering about you and thought about e-mailing you just the other day!! I'm sorry about the crap your ex is putting you through - what a *loser*!! I sincerely hope it all works out in court in your favor!!
I'm glad to hear you are busy, though. I know you cut way back on posting about the time we met, and I'd hoped you didn't think I was a big weirdo or something
Well, a promotion would be good, but much improved health would be even better!! Let us know how your chiro/natural treatments continue to go - it sounds hopeful!! And don't be a stranger!
Mary
PS I use the same Neutrogena cleanser I see in the background of the pic in the bathroom still waiting for my pores to disappear

Hi Christine!
Great to hear from you again. Glad the job is going so well! And sorry about the same old, same old with your ex. What a royal JERK! I'll be anxious to see if he gets what he deserves at the hearing. Will keep my fingers crossed.
About a gluten trial - you have EVERY right to refuse it. You know your body better than the docs.....plus you know tons more than they do about MC and "our" condition ("celiac lite", as coined by CA Mary). I'm sure that Dr. Fine would never recommend a trial of gluten in a case like yours - if you want verification, just email him and see what he suggests. I'm sure he'd be happy to give an opinion.
How is Trent? Tell him we miss him too and to pop in sometime to say hi.
Hope you feel tip top soon. BTW, what are you now avoiding? Do you think that you could have another intolerance and that if you could tweak your diet and figure it out that all would be fine again? Many of us found "lesser" intolerances once we had stopped avoiding the major ones for a while.
Love,
Polly

Hope you feel tip top soon. BTW, what are you now avoiding? Do you think that you could have another intolerance and that if you could tweak your diet and figure it out that all would be fine again? Many of us found "lesser" intolerances once we had stopped avoiding the major ones for a while.

Hi Christine
Hi Christine,
I have thought about you a lot, and hoped you were doing better. I know you are busier at work with your promotions..... and Congrats on that!! You must be very good at what you do!
When I saw the NP she had me on Mediclear for a while. I really liked it, I was sorry when she said I didn't need it anymore. It is very expensive, like all those supps.
Your EX needs to be from the planet!! Sounds like he has some big time problems!!
I'm so glad you are feeling better, I don't know about ingesting all your allergens though, that sounds really scary. Please keep us informed ok?
Hope to hear from you more often, the kids look great! The cars too!
Love, KathyP

Hi again, all!
Yeah, if Mayo wants that, I ain't doin it.. I'd MAYBE consider 2 bites of something to show them the result, but even that I'm not sure I want to do.
Today, I got my new vitamins, and I took the first pair at lunch. Only I forgot to eat lunch again. So the result was stomach pain.. I'm going to give it a few days though. That one was my fault. The moment I got home, I ate some rice cereal, and the stomach pain is slightly better.. I feel on the mend anyway.
About some of your posts above.. don't get me wrong, I've been feeling TWO TONS better lately than I'd felt for a year. All of those ER visits.. all the nights that all I could do was come home and crash in bed.. day after day at work with a heating pad on my stomach or back.. I remember those days. I know I've got it a LOT better these days. I believe I have eliminated all of my allergens, with exception of recent discovery of corn, which could also be just because I seemed to already be reacting to something else I'd eaten..
Things are much, much better. I think my issues lie in the hidden allergens that I already know about. I believe I've irritated myself already by accidentally eating something, and since I'm already irritated, I'm reacting moreso by things that were questionable that I would throw in once a day or just every now and then as a treat. So I just need to cut out those things at this point. A spoonful of chocolate topping is usually what I treat myself to. If I stay under control, I can get away with it. But Halloween pushed me over a cliff. I can usually only tolerate one or two "candy" type things (usually fruit snack type candies with just corn syrup) and as long as I don't do this in excess, I'm alright. But Halloween was just too tempting.. too often. It's out there, everywhere, calling to me. I need it to be out of sight. I can easily say NO to cake and cookies now. They make me feel like I'd rather die. But candy.. I have a hard time saying no if it doesn't have any wheat in it.
See you all at tonite's chat!

Hi Christine,
The only candy that doesn't cause problems for me is pure maple sugar candy. I have problems with all other forms of sugar.
I feel so cruddy that I'm skipping the chat tonight, but it has been in session for almost 45 minutes, now. It was scheduled for 8:00 pm Eastern time, (which is 7:00 pm Central time).

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Christine,
I am so glad to hear from you again but WOW!!! what a lot of crap you are having to deal with!! I'm really, really sorry.
Also, it's kinda scary to think about you losing so much weight. How tall are you, sweetie? I am really concerned about that weight loss.
Tex,
I, too, am so sorry to hear that you are feeling so bad. Do you have any idea what caused it this time? I'm glad the maple syrup candy worked out well for you. You hardly ever talk about how you are doing, so I know you must be pretty low.
((((((((Hugs)))))))) to you both,
Love, Shirley

Hi Shirley,
Yes, I know exactly what caused it. It was self-inflicted. Sigh.
You can read about it in my comments on the 3-Day Rotation Diet Trial, in the "Discussions on Treatment Options Using Diet, and/or Medications" forum.
Love,
Wayne
P S I've stopped vomiting, but I still can't eat anything but a little broth, now and then, and I have to virtually force that down.
