FDA Approves New "Do-All" Test For GI Pathogens

Post by tex »

Hi All,

Until now, most GI tests for viruses, parasites, and bacterial infections had to be done individually, and often at different laboratories. And some tests required days or even weeks before the results were available. The FDA has approved a test developed by Luminex Corporation that is claimed to be capable of testing for 11 of the most common pathogens that cause gastroenteritis. And the results should be available within only 5 hours. This could turn out to be a very popular test, if it performs as claimed.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
