Please Feel Better Soon, Wayne

Post by Polly »

Hi Wayne!

You have been too sick for too long now. WAHHHHH. You have even felt too sick to be here on the board for very long. We are missing you and hoping that you will turn the corner soon. Do you think this flare is the result of your several weeks rotation trial or related to a specific trigger?
Whatever it is, I've got everything crossed for you. I know you're not eating much except broth......have you lost a lot of weight? Are you weak? Hopefully the GI tract will settle down SOON. Enough already!

Love,

Polly

Hi Wayne. I am so sorry that you still are not feeling well. I pray that you will get better very soon. I know you don't put much trust in doctors, but there are times when they - and medical tests - might find something that cannot be self-diagnosed. Would you at least consider going and getting a full component of blood tests (including heavy metals)? Please get well!!!!

Carrie

Hi Wayne,

I hope you get feeling better soon, seems like you have been down for quite a while now!! Please don't try those 3 day rotations anymore, if they are going to do this to you!! :yikes:

Hi Everyone,

Well, I'm still kicking, but not very high. LOL. I can assure you that there will be no more 3-day rotation diet trials for me, in the future.

I'm beginning to think that a lot of the intolerant items that I ate during the trial, were just stacking up in my gut, and ferminting. I'm having a tough time getting rid of all of it, (mostly C, with only a short episode of D), and I'm still not able to eat anything, without some sort of reaction to it, (bloating, pain, etc.). I even react to chicken broth, and everything else I've tried. I am probably reacting to all proteins, right now.

This morning, for example, I was finally able to drag out of bed about 11, and eat a braized, (broasted?), chicken wing. It was a small wing, and though it took me nearly half an hour to eat it, I was too full , when I finished. I'm not sure if I'll be able to eat anything more today, or not. Sigh.

I've lost a lot of weight, (probably at least 15 pounds), and the smell of food cooking, makes me feel bad, (nauseated). I'm weak as a kitten, and don't have the energy to get completely dressed, (such as tying my shoes, etc.). IOW, I'm pretty much becoming an emaciated, dirty bum. LOL.

This has occurred in the past, but it usually resolved in a couple of days, as I began to eat solid food, and my gut resumed normal operation. It just doesn't want to get going, this time, though it's making a lot of noise, as though it's trying. I keep hoping that tomorrow will be the day.

Love,
Wayne

 Wayne, I'm crossing everything I got that you feel better soon and find something your poor tummy can tolerate. You HAVE to eat. Silly of me to ask I know, but have you tried the BRAT foods? I don't want to see you becoming a skinny bum...it'd be better to know you are feeling better and shakin' it :banana2:

Hi Wayne,

I am thowing my good wishes your way. I do hope you feel better and this seems to have been an unusually long stint for you to feel so bad. Being the vegan, I would recommend some vegetable broth if the chicken is not doing it. It will give you hydration but not have the protein which may be complicating things.

Hope you are real better real soon.

Love, Maggie

Image NO FAIR!!!!

I sure hope you are up and going soon - what a long time to be down.

Take care of yourself. I don't need to tell you that you need to eat/drink something to keep yourself hydrated and you can't afford to loose any more weight. IV fluids here you come unless you follow all of our advice. Not mother-henning you, just concerned, loving friends!

Take care my friend!

I am also worried about you, Wayne. I feel like you almost HAVE to be dehydrated since you can't even tolerate the broth. I don't think you had 15 lbs to spare, did you? Perhaps the Dr. idea isn't such a bad idea. Perhaps you have more going on than you think.

We do love you a lot and miss you terribly and truly care about you.

Hi Wayne

Sounds as though you are having a really tough time of it. I think it may be time for you to see a doctor as well. If you cant get a chicken wing down and have lost that much weight you probably need professional help. You will probably not get too much stronger on the sort of diet you have been on. Now listen to all the worried people on the board and do it now.

Love

Liz

Thanks, everyone! I appreciate your concern.

I've been able to belch normally, a couple of times this afternoon, so I think I may still have a chance of surviving. Belching is always a good sign.

I thought I would try the BRAT plan, since it is theoretically designed to re-start the digestive system, when it is disrupted, due to nausea/vomiting, and/or D.

Tea seems to bother me, if I drink it frequently, so I'm a little relutant to try it now, so I had to scratch the tea.

Unfortunately, the only applesauce I could find, contained HFCS, so that was out, also.

Rice was part of my 3-day diet rotation, because it's suspect, though I don't seem to be highly intolerant of it, normally, but I decided I'd better pass on it, also, since I'm already in bad shape, and I had been eating it when I got sick.

This leaves bananas, which are also suspect, but since I haven's eaten any in at least a couple of weeks, I may take a chance on half a banana, to finish out the days ration.

Anyway, now you can see why it can be so difficult to get the digestive system re-started for some of us MIs. If I were to go the ER, they would likely intraveniously feed me dextrose, which, of course, is made from corn. Sigh.

Love,
Wayne

Hi Shirley,

Well, hopefully, I can continue to avoid the clutches of the ER docs, for the duration of this episode.

I just ate a frozen banana, and was surprised to see that I was able to eat it all, in a reasonably short amount of time, without adding to my discomfort. This is a huge improvement over the way that things have been going, for the past week. I think that it's an indicator that I'm over the hump. I'm optimistic, anyway.

Love,
Wayne
