Monique....won't know if it's the Big C or not till after my surgery. They won't do a hysterectomy until I'm 100% cancer free which I hope is the case. LOL....no just one dumb blond head!!

@Leah....glad to know you can handle the Advil. I'm hoping I can as well.

Thanks everybody for your kind thoughts and good wishes. And Terri, best of luck with your surgery, as well! Too bad we can't hang out and recover together. As my Grandma always used to say, "This, too, shall pass." I plan to take Gabes' suggestions to heart for the next few weeks. I already warned Tex to disregard any rambling or incoherent posts over the next few days ~ i always get chatty on pain meds :)

I had torn meniscus surgery 6 1/2 years ago before I had MC. The surgery was fine. I felt less pain after the surgery than I did from the torn meniscus. I was diligent about doing the physical therapy and today my leg is very flexible and without pain. I didn't have sprained ligaments or fluid in the ACL, but did have the arthritis. Like Tex, I take glucosamine every day which seems to keep it at bay. I hope your surgery goes well and you heal properly. I don't know how your sprained ligaments will impact your physical therapy.

Patty also had torn meniscus surgery. Perhaps she'll chime in.

I came through the surgery just fine. Now to get more coordinated with the crutches and wean myself off the Percocet as soon as I can. Got virtually no sleep as it seems to rev me up rather than sedating me. So far no gastrointestinal effects, fingers crossed! Thanks again for all the positive vibes!

Glad to hear things went well Leslie! I am the same way with those types of drugs. They totally wire me. Maybe you won't need them at night soon :)

Leslie....so glad everything went smoothly. Keeping my fingers crossed for you as well! I did well with my surgery. With all the stuff they put through my IV, including antibiotics, I thought a flare would be inevitable. But so far so good. I passed on the pain killers after surgery as I wasn't too bad off. And last night I only needed regular Tylenol and it was mainly from a sore throat that the breathing tube gave me. Ugh! I also had a motion sickness patch put on. But feeling good and no flares!!

Now you take good care of that knee! And thanks for letting us know!

BtW...I think they gave me a little does of Perocet before taking me into the OR. Apparently it knocked me out cause the only thing I remember is rolling into the OR, noticing the big round dim lights, then I was gone.

Thanks Leah, Terri and Gloria. Leah, I have already cut back on the pain meds after being very nauseated all morning. The knee actually isn't too bad! Isn't it typical that oftentimes the meds are worse than the problem they are supposed to treat? Terri, so happy to hear you are doing so well and with no pain meds! We have much to be thankful for. And yes, Gloria, very relieved. Now if I can keep from hurting myself further with these darn crutches ;)

Thanks Gloria and Leslie! Yes...those meds can make you nauseous alright. I'd rather deal with a little pain than nausea and dizziness. My experience with hydrocodone in the past wasn't very pleasant. Be careful on those crutches!

I am glad the worst is behind you! Leslie, I cannot imagine having D and being on crutches. I am definitely not coordinated enough to deal with both. I have been so grateful that my numerous foot surgeries were done before I was diagnosed with CC and the Vicodin or Norco that I took actually made me constipated for the first time in my life. I cannot imagine trying to go anywhere in a hurry on crutches. Please be careful.
Terri, I hope that there is good news from the biopsies (that the Dr. probably took?)--its the waiting that is hard.

Thanks Jane! They took a good chunk out of the cervix to see if there is malignancy. If there is, I'm hoping they cut it all out. I'm so ready to get those useless organs out of me already! lol! Still doing well except I'm thinking I may need to increase my fiber today....system is extremely sluggish. Something I'm not used to!

That is my BIG question: How does one increase fiber without causing D again? I am still pretty sluggish in spite of taking a tablespoon of flax seed oil a day and eating some chopped up apricots and dried cherries in my cornmeal mush in the morning which I mix an egg into and make it with half water, half hemp milk.

I would love to eat a salad but i am afraid that it would put me over an edge that I never would be able to come back from. I can say intellectually to myself that it really doesn't matter if I have D again--I can stop it, but the FEAR is huge and so I would rather remain constipated with stools like #2 on the Bristol scale.

I called my gastroenterologist's office yesterday and have started the process to get him to order the Enterolab testing.

I just want a happy balance! Let me know Terri, if you are successful in increasing fiber without causing D. If you are successful, I might get daring again and try something new. It is terrible to be terrified of what your body might do next!
