Enterolab - Which Panel Do I Order
Hi All,
I've been searching my information for notes on which panel I need to order from Enterolab. I know now that my blood test indicates I can go ahead. I THINK it was Panel A to test for the usual dairy, soy, Gluten. Is that correct?
Please advise 'cause I'm really anxious to get this ordered right away.... thanks so much! Barb

Hi Barb,
Here is a quote from Tex on another post..
"Most members get either Panel B or Panel A. Personally, I like Panel B because it includes the gene test. However, the gene test is certainly not essential for determining food sensitivities — it's just nice information to have in some cases (depending on which genes you happen to have). If you can justify the cost, Panel C provides information on 11 additional foods. "

I just ordered Panel A & C. I decided the gene test wasn't necessary because I do not have children (and at 60 it ain't gonna happen ;) Can't wait!!!!!!CathyMe. wrote:Hi Barb,

PS Enterolab was extremely helpful on the phone to help me sort out what I needed too. They also helped me with what I could tell my insurance company for hopeful re-imbursement. We did call the insurance company and they were willing to pay 1/2 of the cost after my deductible was paid. Well, it isn't yet, but that money will go toward my deductible so that is excellent news!!!! I was really impressed on the nice people at Enterolab.
Now I have ordered the tests and am on my way (blood test for igA deficiency was done and I proved 'normal') so that is good! YIPPEE!!!

That is GREAT news. I will not have met my deductible either, but to have even 1/2 go towards it is wonderful. You and I both live in the Midwest and I will be anxious to know how long you have to wait for results.

Hi Jane,
Don't worry. I will post results ASAP. Can't wait to get the kit. I think Tex says it takes about 3 weeks. Just hope I can keep my Budesonide going until get the test results back.
Upset because the GI was supposed to call in my prescription renew but didn't :( ...fortunately I have enough though.

Hi KAthyCathyMe. wrote:Great news and good to hear about getting re-imbursed. I may try that myself! Did you have to have a physician's order? I know when I did MRT testing, my insurance company asked for an order from a physician, which my PCP did and I did get reimbursed the cost.
No, I didn't have a doctor's order for this. I ordered the lab kit online at www.enterolab.com They do ask you for the name of your doctor if you want results sent there when you are filling out the online order. They also ask many questions about your medical background concerning your health issues, if you are now on a gluten free diet, history, etc. It's not real detailed but was surprised (and glad) they did.
Enterolab recommended that if I wanted to get insurance to pay, that I first call my insurance company. Enterolab will give you the CODE that you have to give the insurance company. Then the insurance company can look it up to see if it qualifies (at least ours did). Also something important to note is that Enterolab does NOT do insurance claims for you. You are responsible for talking to your insurance company and getting information about how to file a claim. I suppose the insurance company may ask that you provide a script from your doctor...I'm not sure. We may still have to do that, but my Primary Care Doc is willing to do that, so I went ahead and ordered the test knowing this all ahead of time. So we printed off a claim form from our insurance's website and we will send it in when I have the test.
It's quite the protocol to follow before ordering the test so you know upfront what you are facing. To be frank, it wouldn't have mattered ... we would have ordered the test anyway but it always helps when insurance will help out for sure!!! Certainly in this day when we pay such a high insurance rate...both my hubby and I are retired so we have to pay our own health insurance premiums.
Hoping this will help others to see how this works. I'll try to write step-by-step as the procedure goes ;)
