Just spoke to Wayne

Hi friends,

I've been so anxious to hear news about Wayne (like all of you) so I just picked up the phone and called him.

He sounded pretty good and seems to have made it through the surgery okay. He has tubes down his throat and a colonoscopy but was up and walking today. He's self managing his pain with a morphine pump which he made a joke about...refering to it as 'junkies paradise" or something like that. It made me laugh.

I asked him about the surgery - they did take out quite a mass. He's seen some doctors but won't be able to meet with his surgeon until tommorrow to find out more specific details about what they found. This was a pretty serious operation I think and his hospital recovery time will be 5-6 days. I'm sure Polly will know more about this operation than any of us here.

I asked him if he minded if I gave out the hospital number and he said no. It's 254-724-3575 and he's in room 575. He also has his cell phone with him.

He sends his love to all of you. Let's pray for a speedy recovery for this special man.

Oh!! My! Gosh! I feel awful about Wayne. I have been away and I haven't been on the computer.. I'm so happy that some of you have been and are keeping in touch... Please keep us posted and if you speak with Wayne send my best wishes and love!!!

Thank you SO MUCH, Joanna!!! This is wonderful news. I'm so glad he has been taken care of but it does sound pretty serious to me too. Lets continue to pray for the best possible outcome for our dear Wayne.

Our posts are so similar! Yours had not yet shown up on the board when I wrote mine or I wouldn't have started a new thread. I'm so glad you tracked him down. He had called me at 4:30 this afternoon and left a message on my cell phone, which was turned off because I was at home. Wasn't it great to hear his voice?

So happy to hear Wayne is out of surgery and recouping with his morphine.. I recall my brief experience with morphine and it's pretty *dreamy*. Hopefully it's dreamy enuf to make him forget he's in a hospital.

Hopefully he'll be out of the hospital in 5 days, not 9..

Poor Wayne...
