Yes, just as with any inflammatory bowel disease, some patients who have MC can experience periods of spontaneous remission. For most of us that rarely (or never) happens, but for a very fortunate small percentage of patients, periods of remission can be frequent, and in some cases even dominant. We have several members for whom spontaneous remission is somewhat common, but most of them tend to prolong the periods of remission by modifying their diet to at least some degree, though they are often not as strict about their diet as most of us have to be.
For such individuals, it's impossible to predict when a relapse will occur — it might be tomorrow, or it might be next year.
Enjoy it while it lasts. Hopefully, you will be one of the lucky ones, and it will last a long, long time.
