Received Enterlob Test Kit

Post by humbird753 »

Hi everyone - I just received my Enterlob test kit in the mail this past Friday. Since they want it sent back on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, I am waiting until next week to complete and send my kit. I have recently read and tried to visualize what people were talking about when taking the sample to send back to Enterlob. Read some humorous stories - thank you.

I assumed the way of testing would be identical to when I prepared stool samples when I was tested for parasites. It's interesting to see it's not the same at all.

One question - Does this sample have to be "frozen"?

Just wanted to say I have not been able to be on here as often as I would like since my computer at home is not working at this time. It is also the busiest time of year for me at work - income tax season! So this is one reason I haven't taken time to fix or make changes with my computer at home.

I want to welcome all the newbies. I look forward to catching up on everyone's posts.

Well wishes to all.

Ha Paula. Yes, it does have to be frozen. TMI, I know, but it took three times and two days to get the required amount. A cup can be a lot sometimes. I couldn't wrap it in enough plastic bags before putting it in the freezer. And I took it to UPS immediately after taking it out of the freezer. Didn't want to look at the clerk when I handed it to her. Hopefully she didn't realize what precious cargo it was!

Good luck Paula!

But UPS asks what's in your package. What do you say?

Hmmm. UPS never asked. Maybe they knew lol. I think I would just say its a "medical specimen".

When I dropped my sample off the young man who took it only said " oh you have an overnight? I'll put it right over here" and he put it with the other overnight packages. That's probably what they are most concerned with. I did think "if only you knew".
I did the same thing-- ziplock bags around the container. I was grateful we had our old refrigerator/freezer down in our garage. I really didn't want to keep it in my kitchen.

I was very much C when I was collecting my sample. I even took a small container to work just in case the opportunity showed up. It did. So then I put the container in a large manilla mailing envelope and told the secretary I had to run something over the Board of Education Office, so I could run home and stick it in the freezer.
If only THEY knew!

Welcome to the club, Paula.

Thank you for all your comments and stories (lol). This will be my weekend event!

I am looking forward to the results, but also nervous about them. Silly - but I don't want to find out I need to eliminate more foods than I have. I am sure everyone else felt that way.

Although I have seen a lot of improvement, "Norman" has not been here yet, so more than likely there are other foods I have been eating that I will need to eliminate.

It is surprising how much energy has returned. It's great to get up in the morning and feel I can actually work, and I still have energy left for things I want to do in the evening!

Held up in customs!!! Now that is funny, Ant. Thanks for sharing.

Paula, you'll probably have your own story to tell next week.
