My weekend project(s)

Post by jgivens »

I am happy to say that the Enterolab kit arrived on Thursday. You all know how I spent my weekend and happily sent the kit on its way back to Enterolab. I cannot wait to see what the results are! I am hoping against hope that casein is not a problem.

I made Chevre this weekend from raw goat milk. My son says it is delicious. I couldn't resist and took a small taste on my finger. Nirvana! No repercussions, either, but I would think that I wouldn't have a reaction from that much dairy that my body never gets any more--especially goat milk.

I had acupuncture this morning, which felt great. I'm trying to spread the appointments out because they are so expensive. She gave me some Chinese medicine last time to help with constipation. I noticed no difference. It was much needed. I had a rather traumatic experience over the weekend.

I was gone for most of the day on Saturday and came home to find my poor husband had used his inversion table (it has been a godsend for his back for the last six months) without anyone at home (something that I warned him about) and it had broken, trapping him and suspending him for two hours. I could not counterbalance it even, as I got a ladder and tried to sit on the other end. I finally had to call 911 to help release him. He was sooo panicked. You read about people who have enough adrenal to lift a small car off of a child (or maybe husband). Evidently, I don't have that! The firemen had him released in two minutes. A really horrible experience for him.

Yesterday and today I have found sore muscles I did not know that I had! He of course, as anyone would expect, is sore and his pride definitely took a beating. Ever the engineer, he is trying to figure out what failed and what he will have to do to reenforce it. He is not a large man and it was not an inexpensive devise so this should not have happened. Ah well, one never knows what life is going to throw at us. We feel lucky that he did not break his neck, nor cut off blood supply to his ankles and feet where the padded clamps held him to the frame.

Jane, I have an inversion table also and use it on my own all the time. I can't imagine what caused that. It's such a simple device. Hmmmm

OK, count down three weeks for your results :)

One of my goals of healing is to one day be able to eat Chevre again! I could care less about all other dairy, just goat cheese, please!!! My family was eating it while on vacation with GF matzo crakers and it looked so good, I took a tiny crumble, swished it in my mouth for the flavor and spit it out!! Pitiful!!

Oh, Jane, your poor husband! I'm so glad he is okay, other than being sore in body and pride.

 YIKES! So sorry. Must be a way to have a cell phone attached to it somehow.

I will tell DH not to use his while alone.
