Has a conclusion been made on our site, with individual experiences, that SSRI's are definitely not a good mix when you have MC??? My therapist did a cheek swab, both sides, to see what my compatibility to antidepressants is and at what rate my body metabolizes them. I currently, and have been for a few years been on Effexor XR at a low dose. Unfortunately, I am in a major depression state, due to personal reasons and I need this info to provide to my therapist.
I also have printed off the sites definition of MC, etc., so she can understand that what I have is not IBS.

SSRIs definitely cause problems for some people who have MC, but they don't cause a flare for everyone. Did you by any chance read what I wrote about SSRIs here? You'll also find an article there about how MC compares with the other IBDs, that might be helpful for your doctor. The article about SSRIs is below that article.
