Still no relief
So after being told I have LC, and being on steroids, that did not help, (for 6 month), then on another med, I cannot remember the name of it, it used to be used for high cholesterol, that didnt help either, now my gastro, wants to go down my throat and get a biopsy of my small intestine, to see if it's gluten related. I go on April 1,st, for this procedure. Getting tired of all of the trips to the bathroom. With not being on any meds, I really am having up to as many as 8 watery bm's a day. I am very weak too from it all. Any input? Thank You
no relief
I am new to colitis too. But based on what TeX has shared with me is that even with a biopsy you could have a gluten intolerance but the biopsy could test negative for celiac. I have had D since June last year. Started Asachol HD 2 1/2 weeks but I also take welchol. I was going like 10-15 times per day but now about 5-6 still D but more manageable. My next step which deems to be the consensus from everyone here..is to begin the elimination diet. I would rather be drug Free and D free and be on a restricted diet.
Most people with a form of colitis need to cut out gluten dairy soy etc.
Hope this helps
Being sick is awful and I get your frustration with the D and trips to Dr . It's time to take a series look at "curing" yourself with restricting food choices.

Hi Cindygirl. Like people here are saying, even if you don't get a positive result from the endoscopy, you should immediately take gluten out of your diet. Almost all of us here are gluten intolerant.... dairy also. If you really want to start to feel better, you must wrap your head around the idea of doing an elimination diet and try to figure out what food are causing you so much inflammation. It's a long, hard road, but so worth the trip!
