Update
Hey guys!
I haven't been around in a while, it's been a very crazy couple of months and I haven't had much time to take care of myself so I haven't been feeling great. Today I'm trying to get back to menu planning and cooking so I can stay on track with my diet, but I'm in the middle of a horrendous acid reflux flare. I have an appointment with a new gastroenterologist next Tuesday, after some searching I found one in the area with decent reviews and who owns his own practice, rather than being a part of a huge group, so I'm hoping he will be able to take some time to actually listen to my situation. I've recently been thinking about the results from my last endoscopy/colonoscopy (ulceration of esophagus, "normal" inflammation in stomach, small intestine, and large intestine, being "undiagnosed" with celiac) and it seems like something isn't quite right there, so I'm looking forward to getting a second opinion but I'm not getting my hopes up too much. I've recently found some great doctors, and I'm not willing to mess around with doctors who won't take the time to actually look at your case and find a solution anymore, because I know there are better ones out there.
On the bright side of things I've been undergoing pelvic floor therapy and it has really helped my pain! I haven't taken my amytriptyline in almost a month now :)
I hope everyone is doing well!

Hi Amber,
Have you tried vitamin D for treating reflux? I'm talking about daily doses in the 10,000 to 12,000 IU range for a while, to help get the reflux under control. Several members have had good results with that "treatment". Here's a link to a previous discussion about this:
To Anyone Who Has Acid Reflux, Indigestion, Or GERD
Good luck with your appointment, and thanks for the update,
Tex

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Hey Tex,
I actually ran out of my vitamin D a while ago and completely forgot to re-stock it, I will start taking it again ASAP. I am still on my PPI, which is already a 3x larger dose than what I started out with in August, and I think my body may be overcoming it again. I never wanted to be on a PPI in the first place, so I definitely don't want to start increasing the dose every 6 months too.

Yes I'm hoping the new doctor will cooperate with me and help me wean off of them. The bad acid reflux didn't begin until my doctor had me do a three week gluten challenge (and I stupidly followed his orders), so thinking that the gluten must have caused some damage but hopefully it will heal soon since I haven't eaten gluten for months. But then with the endoscopy showing ulceration I get a little worried about just quitting PPIs on my own.
