I haven't been in remission to notice a flare yet (diagnosed in Oct 2012, but just found this forum last month, so was doing everything wrong up until then), but my current diet has helped.... bland, bland, bland....cod & haddock & chicken and over cooked veggies & some avacado. Chex cereal/almond milk. I made a loaf of cashew gf bread the other day that was fantastic for toast...thanks to Pinteret! I make macaroons with a very small amount of honey, but have to stay away from sugar & carbs as much as possible, and I don't have to go to the bathroom as much....but still have to think ahead when leaving the house and plan to be near a restroom!
It's odd though that I can not tolerate broth...is it the fat content? I make homemade broth and separate the fat as much as possible....but I even notice irritation when I bake chicken legs. I'm thinking I don't digest fats well. Never have though. I can't tolerate sugar alcohols....and they're everywhere!

Heck, it seems my whole digestive tract doesn't function properly....and that is sad considering I come from an Italian family that loves meals together and lots of food!

I, too, get brain fog and have a tough time functioning some days. I look up recipes and play games on my kindle on those kind of days. I try to walk everyday, up and down hills for exercise and to clear my head.

My advise...be aware of everything you put in your mouth. Read every label. If you can't pronounce an ingredient, or know what it is, don't eat it.
Healing is a slow process...patience!

Several of us don't tolerate chicken. I can't eat chicken, but I am able to eat turkey, so I make turkey broth instead.

Gloria....that's the thing, I eat chicken daily, but only white meat. If I eat a leg or wing I get a tummy ache. It seems I react more to turkey, than white meat chicken, also.....I know it doesn't make sense. I'm waiting for my lab tests to actually see what it is that I am sensitive too.
I have never liked red meat or pork, so I will have a bite of steak occasionally but that's it. So, I'm limited in the meat department.

Here's an open question....how many of you were surprised to find out your food sensitivity sources? Maybe you thought you reacted to a certain food, only to discover it was something else entirely?
That's what keeps going round in my head, as I wait for my lab results! :bunny:

I was totally shocked when I received my Enterolab tests. I had high numbers for everything tested: eggs, soy, casein, gluten and yeast. I didn't suspect any of them, but knew that most here tested positive to gluten, so I was braced for that result only.
