Katie, just wondering how you are???

Post by Wendy »

Dear Katie, I have been wondering how you are doing, if you are getting around ok, and resting when you are supposed to. Do you have any help coming in for you? I hope your kitty is taking advantage of his mommy being at home and snuggling up to you as much as possible.

Take care and do allot of self care.

Hi Wendy,

I'm doing okay. I was really fidgety yesterday, so I'm sore today. Plus its rainy and dreary so I'm reallly loafing today. Today was my first day home alone. But I'm doing better than I'd expected to be at this point, so that is good. I see the doc tomorrow and get the staples out. Will feel better when he sees the incision and says its okay (one end is all scabed up and I think is healing, but then a bit of scab breaks away, and I wonder if it is okay...I think it is). I'm getting quite bored too.

Oh, Katy, I do know about the boredom after having my surgery I thought I was going to go nuts. I didn't know how to drive at the time, and I was having allot of trouble going to the bathroom, since I had surgery also on my bowels and my bladder, so I just couldn't do a heck of allot. I remember it little Mel carrying the basket of clothes downstairs for me, and helping me put them in the wash. But pulling the wet clothes out was a killer, but once they would dry, she would carry them upstairs once again and help me fold. Then I was done it for the day, and the pain would get worse of course. I remember being so proud of myself doing that wash with Mel, it didn't matter that I was aching. But I was married at the time, to a person who was oblivious to others pain, and when he got home from work he saw me lying on the couch and the first words out of his mouth were, "WHAT, No supper!" I think I was speechless for a few seconds and then I let him have it. I was only home from the hospital I think 4 days at the time, so he was way out of line.

But on another note, to not go crazy, I took up putting puzzles together. Then of course I became obsessed with doing more and more. Can't remember how many I did to get me through it all, but it was allot. There were no laptops back then.

But if you are still in allot of pain it is hard to concentrate to do allot, that is why I got the puzzles, you just do, you don't have to be creative.

Good luck, and will talk to you again soon.

Gentle hugs
Wendy
