Thank you so much for all your advice and support, it helps knowing I am not alone, although I would not wish this on anyone. It sounds like over time I will basically be able to remain gluten free and dairy free and reintroduce foods slowly. However stay off off tomatoes, coffee, cabbage anything with acid for life. Is there anything we can drink other then water? Too bad we need food to survive! also stay off of soy and corn.I am hoping the Anxiety and Deppression leave soon. I have no energy.I feel like sleeping all the time.......Praying that I will get my lfe back!

I have corn products but whole corn. I have corn chex cereal, grits and corn tortillas...and rice cakes for open faced sandwixhes with ham, tuna, chicken and avocado..

I am on Elavil 10mg. I have been on it about two weeks and it seemed to help on its own. My regular Doctor said she wants me off of it as soon as possible. I am on 25 mg Quetiapine. 1 025mg Lomotil. 2 Entocort 3mg. just started taking it correctly today. All these pills are new.I have been on them about two weeks and I am so tired.....

It is nice to know I am not the only Celiac here as well. I have been Dairy free also at least one year.

I like Tuna. I can not eat pork. I get terrible cramps.....It sounds like once you get the D in control. You can eat a healthy diet.

Small town lady,

Most of us have days of fatigue. We are wiped out! We aren't absorbing nutrients, the stress on our bodies both emotional & physical are tremendous. That's normal with this disease.

I only drink water or decaf herbal tea.

Give it time & adhere to your diet......it will get better!

You will get better, honest! Are you able to get outside and walk a bit? Sometimes that helps with stress, as it's not a friend, especially now. Now is the time to be extra nice to yourself, a nice warm bath, etc. I drink green and peppermint tea, coffee sometimes (if it's very good coffee), almond and coconut milk, an occasional glass of wine with dinner. It took several weeks of really watching everything I ate plus a supply of pepto Bismol to get fairly regular and feeling pretty good. I still make a big pot of chicken soup each week so I have some on hand. It's a new way of eating, and I'm learning to cook a different way. I was diagnosed in early January, and right now I feel better than I did before all this started--more energy, etc. I know you will too. For now get as much rest as you can. Your body needs to heal.

Fatigue is part of it. Do not feel bad about resting as much as you want. It is part of the healing process and if you need to work, you need to rest when you are at home. Do you like tea? Many of us find green tea good. I go for Rooibus tea (from south Africa). Both are high in antioxidants and Rooibus is without caffeine. I don't do well with much caffeine.
When I went for my physical in January, my cholesterol levels were way up for the first time in my life and my HDL was very low. I was trying to figure out what would have caused that until I realized that when your body is stressed your cholesterol can get out of whack. My anxiety was off the charts.
Though I have not gained back any of the weight that I lost, people are starting to tell me that I look like a feel better. There are days when I don't feel one iota better physically, but mentally and emotionally I feel SO much better. I feel like there is a way to control this disease and I can achieve it given the right amount of time.
Just know that the depression and anxiety will lift once you have absorbed all of the information you need to deal with it.

Corticosteroids can interact adversely with Quetiapine. That may be why the combination of the Quetiapine and the budesonide in the Entocort EC is causing those symptoms. Was your GI doc aware that you were taking Quetiapine when she or he prescribed the Entocort EC?

Actually, some of us can drink coffee. ( not me) . You may be able to reintroduce tomatoes and cabbage also. I tried recently ( it's been a little over a year since I started) tomato sauce and it didn't give me D, just a couple days of a little pain. Another thing that happens over time is that the reactions aren't as harsh and you can recover much more quickly. I can eat cabbage now :)... and corn products. I only drink water, club soda, herbal tea with honey, and carrot juice.

But you are right, the dairy and soy might be for life.

I hope you start getting energy back and your depression lifts.
