Polly, Happy National Doctors' Day! :bouqueofpinkroses:

Post by tex »

Saturday, March 30th is National Doctors' Day, in case anyone is unaware of it.

While some of us may not feel like giving a hug to our GI doc, we have to remember that here are many doctors out there who take their work seriously, and truly care for their patients. Where would we be without them?

I wouldn't even be here, for example, if a certain surgical team hadn't had the expertise and dedication to do what needed to be done, 3 years ago.

Love,
Tex

Why, thank you so much for the flowers, Tex! Made my day!!!

I have been sad since Thurs., when my wonderful internist was hit by a car as he was running along the road. He has run the 5.5 mi. to work (and back. home) for 20 years, and is a familiar sight to many motorists. His goal is to motivate people to stay fit. He is in shock trauma, and is said to be in "critical but stable" condition.

He also raises chickens and does organic gardening in his backyard, eats 4 1/2 cups of veggies/fruit a day, canoes, is tech-savvy, and plays the bagpipes. But the most amazing thing is that he visits his patients when they are in the hospital (almost no one does that any more) and get this: he gives his cell phone number to all of his patients and wants us to call him, any time nights and weekends that we have a problem or question. Oh, and BTW, he is an excellent clinician. As you might imagine, his patients adore him.

Thanks again for your thoughtfulness.

Love,

Polly

Dear Polly,

I didn't know there was a National Doctors' Day, but I hope you have a happy one!

That said, I'm very sorry about your internist, and hope and pray that he recovers.
Such a sad thing to happen.

Hi Polly... I'm new here and I hope you enjoyed your Dr's day. What kind of Doctor are you?

So sorry about your internist
Here's to a speedy recovery and back to running again. Running is such a great feeling. My prayers are out to him.

Good Morning!

Thanks to all of you for the good wishes and very kind words. My internist has been finally updated to "serious" from "critical" just this morning, so I am hopeful. (Joanne, I am a pediatrician. :pigtail:)

Have a great week!

Love,

Polly
