Anti depressants and Flare Up

I have not posted for a long while. My news is that it took me a year to go off the Cymbalta completely. I'm now on bupropion, low dose and hoping to go off completely soon. As soon as I went off Cymbalta, I became as normal as I was long before either diagnosis of celiac and CC. I am very careful with my diet - I never cheat! For me, it seems to be all about the meds. I know that relapse is always possible but feel really lucky at this point.

As long as you stay away from SNRIs and SSRIs, you should be OK.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

I like many other people struggle with depression and anxiety.
Since my diagnosis I stopped all medications with the exception of Asacol and Wehlcol.
I'm glad I made that decision because of the link between SSRI and MC.
My question is.....I sometimes take an anti anxiety med Buspar. I believe it is like xanex with less addictive properties.
How can we find out if Buspat is OK?
I see my DR next week, but assume if our GI's are unaware of the link between
Meds than how in the world would my PCP know.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Buspar (buspirone) is what is known as a serotonin receptor "partial agonist". That means that it does bind to serotonin receptors, but it's only partially effective. It's not an SSRI, and while it's certainly possible that it could trigger trigger an MC flare for some of us (any drug can trigger a reaction), the odds of that happening are probably much lower than for an SSRI, for example.
