Boswellia Serrata---Does it Work?

Hello friends,

That was the question. Anyone actually tried it and can report whether it helped inflammation or not?

And if you tried it, did you take it in conjunction with regular meds like mesalamine or budesonide?

Thanks,

Monique,
I tried it alone and in combination with other gut antiinflamatories and had no success both on and off of my meds and never had any luck. But remember I have not had much luck with anything until now while on naltrexone and doing a strict allergy elimination. Even tho I am doing the allergy elimination I still eat plenty of fiber and nuts except walnuts and Macadamia nuts. I get better every day and I am soooooo Happy!! In theory it should work but MC is so different than other gut inflamation and so different for all of us, you never know!!

Hi KD,

Yeah, one never knows what would work and what wouldn't. I know some people who manage their MC with glutamine alone...I take mesalamine and an antihistamine and sometimes budesonide and glutamine and I still get in trouble even though I have a very strict diet. I am concluding that I am a hard case...Don't think I'll try it. But I'll wait to see what others are saying

Glad to hear you're doing good!

Regards,

Monique

Tex,

thanks for all the links. Read them all. Looks like it works based on all the various studies but not based on Hotrod's experience. Too bad. Wish we could find something less toxic...and that works better.

Monique,

I suspect that one of the problems is that his case was tough, and virtually everyone in that situation has found that no single treatment seems to give complete resolution of symptoms. IOW, the toughest cases usually have to rely on a combination of diet changes and a maintenance dose of a medication, for reliable long-term control. At least that's the way it appears to me, but that's just my opinion.

Love,
Tex

Seems to be my case as well. At least for now. My condition was unclenched by the emotional trauma and grief I experienced a year and half ago and until the grief issue is resolved I don't see myself healing.

I am looking into body/energy work like Trager and other modalities that can release trauma on a cellular basis. I see this as holding to my grief in my gut and since more 80 percent of our immune system is in the gut, the gut is essentially our second brain.

Thanks, Tex.
