Pepto Bismal
I have been taking immodium, up to 8 a day with little benefit, I have not tried Pepto. Has anyone had better success with one or the other?
Tam
Hi Tam,
Imodium slows the motility of the colon; it doesn't have any medicinal qualities. Pepto Bismol does have medicinal qualities and many people have been able to resolve their MC by using it in combination with dietary changes. The problem with Pepto Bismol is that it shouldn't be taken more than 8 weeks. Also, some of us, myself included, react to it. I don't think it can hurt to try it. If it works for you, terrific! Either way, you will likely have to remove gluten from your diet. Most of us also need to remove dairy, and some of us have to eliminate soy.

You never know what you can do until you have to do it.
Hi Tam,
I haven't got any experience with pepto. I do have experience with immodium... It didn't do the trick for me.
I am currently on colofiber. This is something that will normalise the bowel activity. After two days, I saw that I didn't have as much D anymore. I made a lot of dietary changes: no gluten, no dairy, no eggs, little fat, no soy: a few weeks later, I was in remission! :D
I hope this helps.
Good luck!
