I think that you got the answers you got because Enterolab cannot tell you how to do this w/o risking their necks with state laws. I think Jean's idea is the best at this point. It is not fraud because no insurance is paying for it. You may just have to use your friend's address and name. Keep very good records yourself so that should you ever need retesting, you know what and how you did it.

Sounds like a good time to take a trip up to your friend in Canada and spend a couple of days relaxing and sending in your stool sample. Just have the kit sent to her in your name when it arrives go for girls a trip. Results are on the internet and you are done. I am so glad I live in a state that not only does not have laws like NY but we have a very open medical system with lots of alternatives available to us too. No income tax either. I live in Reno NV beautiful weather 4 seasons a year, and just a few miles from CA, short trip to some of our countrys most scenic areas. Lots of outdoor activities for all of the seasons!! Nothing like Vegas, more like Denver.

Ok... so, I order the test in my name, my date of birth but her address. When the kit arrives, she can give it to me (she works with me in NY but lives in Canada). When I am ready to mail it... drive to Canada to mail it? It's only 10 minutes away.

Is this correct? I don't want anyone getting into trouble. What about payment? It will be a different billing address

Jazi,
I would have your friend order the test with her credit card in her name. You can always send her a check in advance to cover the cost. The name on the test doesn't even matter. The results are only for your use.

Yes, then drive to Canada to mail it. When they e-mail her your results, she can just forward it to you.

Good luck!

I spoke with my coworker. She said she would do this for me but seemed a little hesitant. So... I'm going to hold off for now and give diet a try. I'm still not 100% sure how this all works, figuring out what causes a reaction, but I'm hoping it gets easier.

Joanne, I really don't know why there would be any issue having the kit sent to you (in your name) at your friend's address, going there and mailing it from there.
I go south in the winter and have tests sent to me there. I do lab work there if necessary and then mail it from there. I don't see how this is any different. Deb

I don't know Deb. I don't want to get her into trouble.... I think she was afraid of getting into trouble and losing her Visa

Joanne,

It would be much simpler if you selected someone in another state in the U. S., rather than someone in a foreign nation, because foreign orders have to go through Customs, whereas domestic orders do not.

I know the diet thing can get confusing Jazi, but if you take out the biggest offenders ( gluten, dairy, soy) and also watch the raw fruits and veggies and all the other irritants for now, you will be on your way to feeling better. This will be giving your system a huge break. Later, when you do feel better, you can test one thing back in every three days or so to see if you react. It's a process, but a doable one.
I think I read that you are starting Entocort today also. I hope it works well for you.

Good luck
