Darn butcher!!!
I'm MAD!!!
Just got home from work and the grocery store. Had to work out in 40 degree pouring rain all day. Had my heart set on a beef roast with carrots, onions and potatoes.
Opened the roast and saw that there is sliced ham and spinach rolled inside of it. No label on the meat! Was packaged like fresh cut grocery meat.
I called the store and complained. This is the same store that didn't label their injected pork for 2 weeks because they ran out of labels.

Ah Jean,
That's the pits! I guess someone else is getting home and opening what's suppose to be the ham and spinach they ordered and finding your roast!
How frustrating, especially after being cold and wet and you cannot eat the ham? Bummer. Darn your butcher!
I hope you are able to find a suitable warm meal.
Love,
Joanna

How many more traps can the lay for us. I almost made the same mistake last winter with a pork roast that was stuffed with something or other. It was mixed in with the other roast that were on sale. So it is not just about reading labels but looking at the food also. If you can actually see it in many cases. Wish I had xray vision sometimes since carying around full spectrum analysis might be a bit cumbersome. HaHaHa!
Hope you got warm and found some other comfort food to eat.

Hi Jean,
Sounds like a pretty bad grocery store for meat!! Is this the most convenient one to your home? I would consider switching to another grocery store; but of course you always have to be on guard like Matthew described with such humor - xray vision, LOL!!
I am very paranoid when buying meat; I am particularly worried about the chicken and or turkey - they are often injected. The term ALL NATURAL isn't very precise, is it? I always double check for any small print notice about added solution or natural flavoring even when the label states ALL NATURAL.
A good point from Matthew again to not only check the label but to actually look at the food!! I can't stop laughing, Matthew - Thanks for the insight and your fun way to say it.
What did you eat?
Love,
Karen

Well, I made my point to the meat department and assistant store manager. I told them I didn't want a refund, just for them to be aware of the problems they could have caused. They were very nice and gave me 4lbs. of New York Stripe steaks anyway!
