We're currently working to pre-clinically validate transglutaminase 2 as a drug target for celiac disease. if successful this will lead to a clinical trial using inhibitors in celiac disease patients. Because our current knowledge suggests that transglutaminase 2 is required to develop celiac disease and because animal models lacking this enzyme have no disease, blocking this enzyme could constitute a safe path towards a cure for celiac disease
