Tex I hope your not too rattled by that explosion, that was a big one. It sounds like it was big enough to rattle your windows and your a good 75 miles (120km) away as the crow flies.

Certainly my thoughts and prayers are with you and all of those affected by this tragedy.

Edit....I had earlier mentioned he was 20 miles away, that was an error. From where Tex is in Bartlette to West is about 75 miles....sorry about any confusion.

Tex - I am also praying you are well and safe. I think of all the members here when things like this happen in their areas.

Too close for comfort, Tex. Hope you are okay. The whole thing sounds gruesome.

Tex, I too hope you are okay.

I didn't feel the blast in Dallas, but some of my friends who live farther south felt it, and initially thought it was an earthquake. If you're only 20 miles away, that's too close!

I know it's been a while since I was on but that doesn't mean I don't care about you all. Martha, so glad you weren't involved. How about the winds - are you safe from them?

Tex, I'm praying for you and my sister also. I emailed her and she knows how highly I think of you so she is praying specifically for you also.

I do hope you are able to post soon.

Yikes, I didn't realize that it was close to Tex. I hope and pray that you were unscathed.

I looked up the city of West Texas on the map and I believe he is close enough that he may be without power. I noticed he hasn't been on since yesterday afternoon. What a terrible disaster. I certainly hope Tex is OK.

Hi Everyone,

Gosh, I'm overwhelmed to see such concern, and I apologize for not logging in sooner. Yes, West is a small town north of here, and it will never be the same, but they have a lot of help today, so hopefully they will be OK in the long run.

I was shredding some brush in a pasture when the explosion occurred, and that's such a noisy and intense job that I didn't even hear the explosion or notice the smoke in the distance. After that I mowed the yard, so I wasn't even aware of what had happened until several hours later when I turned on the tv to watch the news and weather, and of course the live coverage dominated all the local channels.

I have a feeble excuse for being so tardy logging on today. I got something in an eye while I was mowing, and it kept me from sleeping most of the night. Of course, I watched the coverage of the explosion for a while. After I finally got to sleep, whatever was in my eye eventually worked it's way out (how do our eyes do that, anyway?), so since I didn't have anything exciting planned for this morning, and since I had been running short of sleep for a couple of previous nights, I decided to try to get some sleep, and I have to admit, I feel great now. Of course, the day is more than half-way over, but what the heck? I put in a good day yesterday, and maybe I'll get something done tomorrow. LOL.

Thanks everyone, I truly appreciate your concern, and I'll try to do better in the future.

And Gabes, hugs back atcha.

Love,
Tex
