Lady,

Our Leah here can help you with the diet. She's done the elimination diet... She is getting this too and will see your post. A lot of us have done it but you sound like you need some nutrition and strength if you gonna take care of the kids and work.

You have to start eating.

I'll send a PM to Leah. Hand in there.

Thank you so very much.I really could use help with Diet. I am so tired all the time and I think the Elevil is making me hungry so I go to bed starving. I would love to try new things and I really want to get better I have 4 children, two are now on there own but I still have two left at home. I want to be here for them and watch them grow up. I want to go to my sons rugby games. I am so scared if I eat something other then the rice and chicken I wont be able to leave the house and they are counting on me. I need my job to pay for all the meds.I have come a long way in a month, I could not hold any food or water in, in the beginning. I also only drink water. It would be fantastic if someone could help me with diet and I could get my energy back.So thankful for this site!
God Bless : )

I was going to ask the same thing. If I were you, I would try some pork first. See how that goes. Fish next. beef next and so on. Proteins are important for the healing process. Also cooked vegetables in the squash family seem to work well for most of us. Rice Chex with almond milk perhaps? Just make sure you only try one thing every few days. .... when it comes to spices, we are all different. I was always fine with herbs ( like Italian seasonings) and garlic salt. Of course regular salt is fine. I would just stay away from spicy for now.

I hope you feel better soon.

Smalltownlady...thanks so much for your kind words. You are definitely eating a lot less than I did at your stage of healing. Since you are on Entocort, you may be able to eat more than you think. Just avoid the Big 4 foods and the irritants for now. I was able to eat a few veggies with no issues. And I wasn't scared to try them because I was on Pepto at the time and could probably have eaten anything though I didn't dare. I do well with spices as long as they aren't the spicy ones. And now when I try new things I don't get so nervous about it as any reaction I have ever had has been very mild and very short-lived....so far. My diet is pretty much like Leah's. I"ve actually had more good days than bad....it gets better. This bout of depression I'm having is passing....thanks to my Librium. Less anxiety now. I hope you feel better soon. I remember last summer when I could barely walk down my street and back due to extreme weakness from the D. What was weird is that all my vitamin/mineral and blood counts have always been good. I know with some Celiacs that's not the case. Hang in there!

@Leah....boy do I miss Mexican food. The two restaurants by us are very iffy. One they can't speak English very well and probably don't know what gluten is and the other is a big chain restaurant that gets very crowded and weren't willing to work with me very well. It's a shame. My boys went out to one last night and I just stayed home. (sigh). Glad to hear you are able to tolerate more foods...so happy for you. BTW...tried that Bertolli pasta sauce you recommended and we all loved it. So glad you mentioned it!!

I'm glad you are feeling better Terri.

Yeah, Mexican tends to work for me because I can now handle a little spice and tomato sauce, so Enchiladas with no cheese works. I can also eat beans and rice, so that rounds out the meal. I can also eat the Carnitas ( pork) . I get some guacamole sometimes also. Fajitas made with no peppers also is good for me as long as i get corn tortillas.

Glad the Bertolli worked for you. It works for all of us too.

@S town Lady... please let us know if you are successful in trying some more foods.

Leah
