GF beer
I have tried various GF beers including some the cider ones but the one that taste most like beer is Red Bridge. It actually taste a little like Busch Lite. It is also easy to find. I buy it at Walmart and when I went to Texas this winter, they had it down there too. Since going GF, I usually drink wine but sometimes I just need a nice cold beer!!

Re: GF beer
OH great. I'll have to check Walmart again. I looked yesterday (before you wrote this) and I didn't see any GF, but now that you told me the brand you like, I'll look again! It's weird eating GF pizza without a beer!!!!debonlake wrote:I have tried various GF beers including some the cider ones but the one that taste most like beer is Red Bridge. My husband is a beer lover and has tried every GF beer out there. Ommission is definitely his favorite, followed by Dogfish Tweasonale and New Planet. He's not a fan of Redbridge, but it's widely available. Tastes like a Coors Light. Other options include Bards, New Grist, Green's, and Estrella Damm Daura (most like a latin American or Light beer). Ommission is being offered at ballparks now insteasd of Redbridge. There are lots of apple and pear ciders now too. Crispin is excellent.

I will have to try Ommission and New Planet. Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I have been sticking to the Red Bridge since that taste the most like Lite beer to me.[/u]

I recently tried New Grist and liked it better than either Bard's or Redbridge. Then, my SIL gave me a six pack of New Planet and Green's (from Belgium), each bottle a different brew. So far, all good, but the last bottle of Green's is a dark ale, so we'll see how I feel about that.
We are going to Ireland in the fall. Can GF people drink Guinness?

Apparently it's wheat-free but not gluten-free, unfortunately.Suze wrote:We are going to Ireland in the fall. Can GF people drink Guinness?

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Where are you finding these brands? Thanks, Barbmaestraz wrote:I recently tried New Grist and liked it better than either Bard's or Redbridge. Total Wine stores carry many of the GF beers. Whole Foods carries some. Otherwise, you need to find local shops and bars that take an interest (or order online). Redbridge can be found at any grocery store.

Barb, Whole Foods is where I found the New Grist. They carry several brands, some in 6-PKD and some in 4-pks, but all tend to be in the $10 range. If you prefer lighter beers, I'm guessing Bard's might be more like those. I find it lighter than Redbridge.
My SIL got the New Planet and Green's somewhere in NH, at a beer place that she and my BIL, who home brews, frequent. That's why she was able to do the mixed 6-pk.
Zizzle, a couple of restaurants around here are carrying the Estrella Damm Daura, and it is good!
