My date with Kari
Hi all.
So, I just got back from my date with Kari! it was so nice to meet her and have a nice long chat. i made us a "safe" lunch and then we took a walk along the beach. it was a beautiful day in Pacifica today :)
Then we drove a little down the coast where her fiance picked her up.
All in all, it was a very nice time . I think all of us PP have lots in common.
We took a few pictures, but they are in Kari's camera, so you will have to wait until she can upload.
I hope she enjoys the rest of her stay in Northern California ( and Oregon and Washington)

isnt it magical to meet a fellow PP'er.
Even though the mc journey can be slighlty different for each of us, the kindred spirit warmth that is shared here, and when you meet in person doesnt have words to explain it.
That reassurance we are not alone on this part of the journey.
So pleased you were blessed with perfect weather.

Well, my first PP meet-up was great fun. I don't think there was any break in the conversation during the 3+ hours we spent together:). The meal Leah prepared was delicious and "safe". You are a true inspiration in the kitchen, Leah, making cooking seem so effortless and natural.
I have been trying to post a picture of the 2 of us on our walk along the coast where Leah lives, but can't figure out how to get it on here, so I have emailed it to Tex. Thanks in advance for your help Tex!!!
Gabes - you are so right - there is something "magical" about meeting someone from our PP family. It felt to me as if we already knew each other. Wouldn't it be great fun to have a gathering somewhere for everyone who could come??? I know that early on some of the "old-timers" did this very successfully.

Thanks for posting the picture Kari! Did you experience the fog coming in the next evening? What did you end up seeing in San Francisco? The Cinco De Mayo celebration was a lot of fun and it was a beautiful day. I know you are on your way up to Oregon and Washington and I hope you have a wonderful trip. Again, so nice to have been able to spend time with you :)

What a gorgeous picture!
I do so wish there was someone around here I could meet up with. It is so much easier to talk when you don't have to explain all the dietary problems. Sharing recipes is simple. When yu think about it food makes up so much of our lives, and of our conversations. So often I hear "oops! Forgot not to talk food around you". What crap!
It would be so nice to treat it normally and naturally again.

Hi Leah,
We did go to Dolores Park for the Cinco De Mayo celebration - it was great fun. We came early, so we explored the neighborhood and had coffee in a wonderful coffee house that Bill's daughter knew about. The weather was great while we were in the park, which made it extra nice. Then we went all the way to Fisherman's Wharf (on public transportation), which brought us through downtown. We had dinner at the large Crab restaurant right on the bay, with a spectacular view of Alcatraz :). It was very blustery by then, so the water looked menacing with white-caps all around - quite atmospheric :).
Right now we are at a hotel in Eureka on our way North. We saw some spectacular redwood trees on our way, and took a detour to drive through one of them :). Tomorrow we will be moving on to Oregon.
So far your home town, Pacifica, is my favorite place to have visited. I will always treasure the time spent with you there - it was very special - thanks again. Now you have to come visit me in Colorado :).
Love,
Kari
