18 month update/getting my brain back/adrenal fatigue/

Post by brandy »

Hi Everyone,

I thought it was time to make an update as of the last 6 weeks I'm doing fairly well! I'm clearly an 18-24 month healer! i.e. I've been a slow healer but at month 17 I could tell I was clearly much improved! I got off of Entocort Jan 15th 2012 after a 4.5 month stint. I still had a fair amount of healing through July of 2012. Even off of Entocort virtually everything I ate caused gurgling up until around July 2012 and then the gurgling faded away. My brain fog finally cleared (after truly around 12 months of almost steady brain fog). I credit the brain fog clearing to taking the metanx version of otc b vitamins p5p pyridoxol 5 phosphate, methyl b-12 methylcobalimin, and metafolin. I took larger doses of these last summer but now I'm down to a normal dose of 50 mg pyridoxol 5 phophate every other day, 500 mcg of the methyl b-12 methylcobalimin daily (I cut the sublingual in half) and 400 mcg of the metafolin per day. I suspect I'll be taking the metafolin per life as when I don't take it for several days I start having memory issues.

Just when I thought things were getting better last summer I started going down hill! GI wise I was doing okay but August/ Sept/ Oct 2012 I started having severe fatigue issues. By the first week of November I couldn't walk from one room of the house to the other after 7:00 pm at night I was so exhausted. I was concerned because I had a giant corporate out of state function and I was really concerned about how I would function. I had 3 preexisting doc appointments unrelated to the fatigue---gi doc, pcp and gyn pa the same week for different things and now my strategy in dealing with health professionals is to tell them all of my ailments (even if it isn't their specialty) to see if they can offer any insight. Both the pcp and the gyn pcp appointments were very productive. PCP determined that I had low ferritin/iron.
I'll post about this on another thread. I tried a new strategy with the gyn pcp appointment.
