Christine
Christine,
My daughter and I are going to be MN 12/15-12/30. I plan to spend some time visiting friends in Waconia at some point and would really like to meet you.
I know your super busy with work and family but I can work around your schedule. I figured we would get a chance to meet in person eventually and hope we can do it this trip. Let me know how your schedule looks.
Love,
Joanna

Joanne,
Of course!!!!! We'll swing something! You don't go from Alaska to MN every day!
I'll give you my cell and home numbers in your message box (since the forum's public). I'd say we're best on a weekend, because weeknights are too short!!!
It looks like the best weekend would be the weekend of the 16th-18th. (but, ironically, not the 17th..) Friday after work would be kinda tight, but it's not a "school night" so we could stay up a little later and that would be better.. Otherwise we could do something on Sunday the 18th - I got nothing going on that I know that day (except football). As long as hubby doesn't miss the Vikings (and I can TiVo the Packers), we'll survive :). Looks like the Vikings play at noon (Steelers) that day, Packers play on Monday that week. Sounds like Trent may go to his Steeler-fan-friend's house that day, so sometime that afternoon would be great! We can do dinner or something, if you'd like.. by that time, Trent would be home.
Anyway! We'll talk more about it!!! This is cool!

Christine

Hi Christine,
Pencil me into your schedule Sunday. Sounds like that might be the best day for you at this point. I get the impression your a football fan so if the Vikings play at noon it might be fun to just settle in somewhere and watch the game together. I'm up for anything.
Let's talk again closer to that date. Glad this works for you- really looking forward to meeting you.
Till then, happy holidays. See you soon!

Joanna

Do you like hot wings??
There is a restaurant in Chanhassen called Buffalo Wild Wings (dunno if you're familiar with it) - they have all flavours of wings.. some hot, some sweet, terriyaki. They also have a GF "naked chicken tenders" meal in case you're in that boat (I can't remember...)... Otherwise, they're food is awesome.
Let me know.. they have a website (you'd have to google it..) if you wanna check out the menu, as they have other things too - their fajitas (I recall), are wonderful. I believe they also have burger-type meals. Anyway, can't wait to see you!!

Of coarse, I love hot wings Christine!
I get the impression, you are thinking towards finding a fun place for us to watch the Vikings game together. Am I right? Yeah, I'm in the GF boat but that will not prevent me from going anywhere to meet you. Remember, your in my "old stomping grounds" which makes it even more special.
I'll probably be staying with friends in St. Boni Sunday evening. They have a hobby farm, with sheep and other animals and the house is full of awesome antiques. If you like, we could watch the game there together and hang out for the afternoon. You could bring your kids, I'd love to meet them. They would have a great time.
Whatever you would like to do is fine with me. You work hard and deserve a relaxing afternoon, with me. I'm really looking forward to hanging out with you too!

Joanne,
That sounds really nice!! Mind if we bring the camera and get some pics of the TT in front of some of the outbuildings? (is the farm on level roads, do you know? The TT doesn't have a lot of ground clearance..) We've been SEARCHING for some place with beautiful scenary, that we can get some nice pics of the TT. Haven't had much luck yet except for a strange tree that created some "interest".. a farm would be beautiful..
Not sure if Trent would be along or not.. He may go to his steeler-fan-friend's house. Either way we'll have a blast! I'm kinda glad you're GF. I'm GF, DF, SF, E(gg)F, and some C(orn)F. It's difficult for me to find ANYTHING to eat lol..
Will your daughter be there too? It'd be nice to meet her, she sounds like such a chip off the ole block.. it's so great to see a mom and (teen) daughter so close. I worry so much about how things will be with my boys when they're teens.. scared to death!!!!
Anyway, this'll be soo coooool! :)
Love,
Christine

Hi Christine,
The farmhouse and outbuildings are on flat land. This place really is awesome- her gardens are unbelievable in the summer. She has folks using the outside for weddings and pictures often. I haven't visited them during the christmas holidays in years but I'm sure it will be decorated to the hilt inside and out so you could get some great photos.
I'm guessing at this point Alanna will be with me unless she decides she would rather stay with her cousin Annie at my sisters. She likes the farm though and it might be the only time we get to see them during the trip.
Yeah, we do have a great bond. I'm thankful for that and hope it continues as she grows up.
We had out first "real" snowfall yesterday so it's a winter wonderland outside today. SO pretty. Might even get the skis out and do a little cross country this afternoon. Were invited to friends for an early Thanksgiving celebration this evening which should be fun.
Hope your having a great day.
Love,
Joanna

SWEET!!!
I absolutely can't wait!!! You'll have to give me directions somehow. The farm sounds perfect, and will probably be a lovely winter scene. The car is black as black, as you can see, so snow will be a great backdrop. You wouldn't believe how difficult it is to find a backdrop unspoiled by man when the car reflects from every side so you have to consider the 360 degrees! In Alaska it's probably a lot easier... Waconia is still a pretty background but we haven't had the weather cooperate with my washing schedule.
Anyway, sounds like I'll meet Alanna too then :) Cool!! I dunno if she likes kids but my kids like to play with about any-aged kid!!! They're a little crazy sometimes, but you mentioned your friend likes kids too (I think) so we'll probably be okay.. LOL I always worry about how they'll act in front of other people. Sometimes they say the funniest things!!!
So I guess just give me a call a few days before or something, give me directions, times, stuff like that. We don't have to go to the restaurant if you wanna skip it. I don't like to run around when I can help it LOL (lazzzzy!!!!)
We'll see you soon!!!! Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving!!!!
