True or false? Those with non-celiac gluten sensitivity run the same risk of damaging their small intestine as those with celiac disease. Find the answer in the comments below!
The University of Chicago Celiac Disease Center Answer: FALSE! Celiac disease is a chronic autoimmune disease where the body acts to destroy the body's own tissues. Is posting that Celiac Disease is the only disease to be cured by not eating gluten! I asked about NCGS? Don't have the time or energy to tell her about MC.

Hi, I have found that the Celiac disease centers have no clue about any MC, CC, LC or any colitis. I was diagnosed with MC at one of the centers in Boston and they refered me to the MC group that was available before Tex started this group. Through that group I heard about Dr Fine and had a stool test that showed gluten antibodies. Jon
Joan,
The answer you quoted from the University of Chicago Celiac Disease Center is obviously based on Dr. Fasano's current opinion, and it is dead wrong IMO, but he has research data to back up his opinion. Unfortunately, if you carefully read the description of the methods used to collect those data, you will see that they were generated by making sure that the selection criteria shut out any contradictory data, in order to prove his preconceived agenda. He's not anxious to admit that he's been wrong all along about gluten sensitivity, and I'm sure that he'll try to postpone eating crow just as long as he can.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
