Big Mistake
I hope everyone is doing well. Wow, I think I made a mistake last night. I got a seedless watermelon from Wal-Mart because it looked so good and ate some last night, quite a bit. Today it is all coming out undigested! Horrible watery D, worse than usual. I'm already going to the bathroom 10 to 20 times per day, still losing weight, still can't figure this out and still discouraged! Kind of depressed today!
Hi Rhyes,
Sorry that happened, Watermelons don't turn up very often in discussions on this board, but many of us (including me) have a similar experience if/when we eat them. Watermelons contain a lot of natural chemical ingredients that apparently are antagonistic for someone who has MC. There's a reasonably good chance that other types of melons may cause similar results. Raw fruits and vegetables in general are off limits when we are still recovering.
A simple, bland diet is almost always the fastest and most reliable path to recovery.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
