Weight Loss and Feeling Great
Since I found this site two weeks ago, I have had such great success. Tex has been amazing giving me such great information. I stopped eating Gluten, Dairy and Soy and I have had no pain for almost 2 weeks now. I still have strange bowel movements with occasional D, but not painful at all and usually first thing in the morning. And I have cut off all other medicines except my Endocort which I believe is working too...I have lost 7.9 pounds in 13 days and my energy level has increased. 3 weeks ago I was falling asleep at 7 or 8 pm every night, unmotivated and feeling bad, missing time with my daughter. Now I have been staying up til 10-11 and getting things done around the house. The change is amazing! I ran a 5k Bubble run last week and a 10k Mud Run yesterday...I could have never gotten through these without this change.
I can't wait until I am in full remission and have my life back.
Thank you to all my fellow Potty People!

Such good news Crystal! It's always great to hear from someone who is doing well with the diet. The weird and non-consistent poops are par for the course. I was much like you in your pattern. When you start to get a little constipated, that is the time to start weaning your dose of Entocort. it took me about a month for that to happen.
Please know that everyone doesn't reach full remission. Many of us have gotten our lives back, but continue to struggle with all of this. I thought I was basically in remission ( no meds) and started adding things like tomato back in and eating out ( even though I was careful ordering) and I slowly deteriorated over time. it was a wake up call and a harsh reminder that I can't get too cute with what I think I can eat. When you are on a lower dose of Entocort, you might notice more foods that bother you. I did. I just wanted to give you a heads up, but you are doing great!

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
