Hi EVERYONE!!! I have missed you all!
Just wanted to say hi to you all. I have been away, way to long from here! I am doing GREAT as long as I stay on the "diet"! Which it really isn't a diet, it's a way of life! I just recently started to venture out and eat out more...so I don't have to cook so much. Yippie! My husband rolls his eyes at me when we go out because I ask the waiter so many questions. But like I always say to him " I would rather be safe then sorry".
I hope all is well with all of you and really do miss you all!!! Stay well!!
Love~Robin

Hi Robin,
It's great to hear that you're doing so well. We've missed your posts here on the board.
And you're right on target about controlling this disease by diet changes. It's not a diet — it's a lifestyle.
Thank you for the encouraging update.
Love,
Tex

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Hi Robin,
you are absolutely right: better being safe then sorry. That's how I live too. Don't worry, you're not the only one who asks a lot of questions when eating out.
Our lifestyle isn't easy, but it's worth it.
Good to hear from you!

It doesn't matter how many times you fall, but how many times you get up en go for it again. HOPE !!!!
Robin, so nice to hear from you. I'm glad that things are going well for you, and you are confident enough to venture into eating out.
I was thinking about you a few days ago. My granddaughter Abby, the one with Down Syndrome, has learned how to walk. How awesome is that?! She is 21 months old now. She still hardly eats anything by mouth, so gets most of her nourishment by G-tube. She will drink some thickened formula, but not enough. For a while she was chewing on crackers, and even swallowing some, but now she just puts things in her mouth, chews them up, and spits them out. Sunday I found bits of avocado all over the high chair. She doesn't talk yet, either, but if she catches herself doing something she's not supposed to do, she says "Nuh, nuh, nuh!" She understands quite a bit, too--she'll give you high fives and bonk heads if you tell her to. Thanks so much for your encouragement during those first few really hard months.

Martha

Hi Robin -
It is good to see you. I am glad to hear you are doing well. I agree with 2 comments you made - "this is a way of life" not a diet, and "ask a lot of questions"!
We can never be too careful when eating out. It's just not worth the consequences.
Miss seeing all your posts.

Hi Robin,
I've thought about you, too. I've noticed over the years that people who are doing well tend to stop posting, so I assumed that you were in that group. I'm glad you've adapted to your new way of life.
Martha,
Wow - your granddaughter is 21 months old?? Where has the time gone? It sounds like she's doing well, though I'm sure you wish she would eat. Those G-tubes can be a nuisance, but sometimes they are necessary. Thanks for the report.

You never know what you can do until you have to do it.
I am with Gloria on this. The last you posted you had gone through surgery, and I was worried things weren't so good. I am so glad to hear you are doing well.I've noticed over the years that people who are doing well tend to stop posting, so I assumed that you were in that group.
Martha: SO happy to hear about little Abigail!
Wow! I didn't realize you guys missed me so much! Thank you for all the responses. I really never said to much on here because it was usually already said by some else. We are "Potty People" one big happy family living with MC! We are all together in this fight to find our own way in MC( and its a huge one)! I am very thankful and grateful that you were ALL there for me to answer all my question when I need to find the answers! It might be a little different for some of us but but the end results are the same. We all don't choose to get sick....it happens. It's what we do to make our selves better that counts!
I have been very busy (not that I am trying to make an excuse) but trying to find time to even take a shower once a day is getting hard I now have two jobs, one I get paid at and the other I volunteer. But about nine months ago I got into Reiki. I was having medical problems ( not related to MC) and had gone to, to many doctors with no answers again! A friend of mine came to visit me and asked if I would give Reiki a try. I figured at this point what do I have to loose. I went to a healing circle, where other people lay there hands on you, we meditated and talked about clearing out chakras! I thought these people were NUTS...I thought they all need to put into padded cells and throw away the keys!!! Well three days later all my medical problems disappeared! I was totally blown away! I couldn't believe that one night of Reiki healing would make my medical problems go away. Went to see my MD and she was speechless. She again didn't know why they just stopped either. It's been nine months and none of the the problems have returned. So given what I just wrote....I am a believer in Reiki now and given that, I became a Reiki Master and do hands on healing's too along with my two other jobs. I do really enjoy my life...it's full...it's healthy and I am so grateful for everything and everyone in it now! But that still was no excuse for not checking in here with my family from time to time. I think being here and talking to all of you has given me the strength that I needed to be where I am today. I was so sick in the beginning that there were some nights I could even type on a computer. But you were all there to help me and guide me....so thank you all!
Martha~I am so glad that Abby is doing well. As you know that is part of my volunteer job (down syndrome and autistic children) so ANYTIME you have a question you can email and I would happy to answer it (If I can't the team of doctors and nurses I work with probably can). I wish I lived closer I would love to meet you and Abby.
Lesley~sorry I worried you. Yes, I did have surgery and everything went well, thank god!
I promise to check in and say hi to you all because I do really miss you all! I have a friend who was recently diagnosed with MC and I have been trying to get him to come on here! He needs help! I told him to stop listening to misguided information he is getting and listen to the people on here....but boy is he stubborn!
Ok guys I Think I babbled enough! Take care! Love to All.
