I once started a thread about how Entocort can be very deceptive. It gives the illusion of remission, but we don't find out until a few weeks after we're off of it that we still haven't resolved our MC. Some can determine their intolerances very quickly, some don't have many intolerances, others need to take a long time to determine them or order additional testing. We're all different, but we can always learn from each other's experiences. I hope you are able to get some control soon.

So very true about Entocort, my MC symptoms came back after I was off the prescription meds (Entocort & Asacol). It was only after I made major diet changes that I was able to find the best relief from the symptoms. My Entrolab results did not show a high reaction to many foods, however, I had been on Entocort for 5 months before the test so it may have given me false results. Now that I am following a mostly Paleo diet, of foods that I know are tolerated, I have had better results than when I was on medication.

Awesome post Gloria.

Thanks for sharing your insight. IMO, you're right on target — that's an excellent description of how Entocort suppresses our perception of symptoms, to give a false sense of healing. And you've included a great summary of how to use Entocort and how to properly withdraw from using it.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
