Glutened myself 3 times this week! Idiot!!

Post by Zizzle »

I am such a moron. I can't believe it. It started with an unsafe breakfast Saturday morning which led to several hours of hell. Then dinner Sunday night was chicken legs marinated in Jamaican curry powder, among other things. I made chicken legs again tonight, this time with lots of sauce. Right after dinner the pain and rumbles began. I didn't make it to the bathroom in time. It's been D and tummy pain since. So I looked at my new bottle of Grace brand mild Jamaican curry power, which I swore I checked the label at the store:

"Turmeric, fenugreek, WHEAT, coriander, cumin, anise, pepper, pimento, cloves, garlic."

I am such an idiot!! Hubby has a headache already and he leaves for a week in Europe on Saturday for work! UGH!!!

Just had to confess...and vent.

Well, at least this reaffirms that you and your hubby are definitely sensitive to gluten (in case there was any remaining hint of doubt).

Hopefully, the reactions won't last much longer, now that you've spotted the problem, because as Dr. Fasano points out, non-celiac gluten sensitivity doesn't cause any intestinal damage the way that celiac disease does, so we have nothing to worry about. Yeah, right.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Z, I did it last Sunday and Monday with sugared peanuts, and I am still suffering. After several days of cramps, headaches, pain and exhaustion the D started today. Well, my version of D.

I know how you feel!

And Tex - yeah right indeed!

I ate some baked beans that seemed to be causing a problem. Took some Beano then noticed it has wheat. S#$T!

The worst is when you get used to a product and know that it is safe and then they change it and add wheat! What are they thinking? Hope you are better now and again, label reading is a real must.

Love, Maggie
