How do you get rid of C?
I don't know what I am doing wrong. Or what I should be doing...
I have been off Endocort for a few months and I have been completely gf/df/and sf for a few months.
The past few weeks tho I have been struggling with C. Very bad C. I was severely impacted two weeks ago and ended up in the hospital. The next few days I was fine and then back to C (but not as bad). It's a struggle every time I go to the washroom. I am bloated and have bad cramps.
What can I do safely to get rid of this on going C?
Any suggestions would be mostly appreciated!

Are you by any chance eating any dairy? Dairy can be constipating. Are you very careful with your GF diet? Some of us react with C instead of D.
You might need to reintroduce some fiber into your diet, or take a magnesium supplement, such as magnesium citrate.

I have had quite a bit of c this last 2 years....
-increase good fat intake, rice bran or coconut oil.
-increase intake of more fibrous safe veges/fruit. A small peeled apple, eaten slowly, chewed well helps.
-small dose of paraffin liquid. (I have a kids one that is easy to take)
-increase water intake
Small amounts of all of the above is a good combo, rather than using just one.
If the motions are narrow, then there is inflammation of some kind in the gut.
Hope this helps.

I struggle with C all the time, and have been severely impacted.
Gabes, you cannot get liquid paraffin in this country. I tried very hard when you told me about what you use. I grew up with it, so I know what it is. No pharmacist in the US could help me.
Frankly I forgot to look for it when in England. I wish I had remembered.
As for the rest, try some prune juice, or, alternatively, my favorite, prunes soaked in water with lemon overnight. You will get the fiber from the prunes and the juice the soaking water creates. It does help!

I forgot about the intussuception. Does that condition even allow any significant fiber in the diet?Tracy wrote:Didn't know if it was the LC or my intussusception.
Adding more fat might be a safer remedy (as Gabes suggested), if fiber is contraindicated. Gabes' recommendations in general, look good.

Gabes,
Paraffin is readily available, since it's widely used for canning and candle making, for example. It's liquid paraffin that's not available.
