Crazy Norman

Post by DebE13 »

I just had one of the worst nights of my life last night, no exaggerating. Won't get into the the sad detail but needless to say I can't eat because of nerves, I have an incredible headache, havent slept well for days, cant concetrate to do my job, and have terrible gut pains (I rarely have pain there), And am walking around on the verge of bursting into tears (not my style). Drank some broth for lunch because I know I can't go without eating. Norman appeared. Don't remember the last time he made a visit despite my never ending attempts to coax him into my life. It's almost like he's taunting me. I should be happy because I at least I know I am physically able but it seems like kicking a dog when he's down.

So your issue was emotional not physical....the reason you were up all night and distressed?

Yep, this was strictly an emotional meltdown. Didnt eat much today and slept most the evening so I am curious what tomorrow morning will bring. My trend has been WD for quite some time even with a strict diet. I've tapered the entocort to a 1-0-0-1 rotation. It always baffles my mind when my food choices remain limited and norman shows up out of nowhere. It makes it hard to determine which food is the culprit. Maybe I have underestimated the stress factor but then again, using that theory norman would not have made an appearance yesterday of all days.

Well, it sounds like your gut likes chicken broth.

Maybe you can build up your food tolerances from this point.

I have had that happen occasionally, too, and could never figure out why exactly.

Rejoice in the moment!

DebE,

Typical of Potty People, most of us marveled at your unscheduled visit by Norman, and looked right past the emotional crisis that was associated with it. I'm sorry about the stress, and I hope that whatever caused the emotional crisis will be resolved in the best way possible. And I hope that Norman chooses to stick around.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Thanks Tex, sometimes when it rains it pours. We all have to live with the choices we make. One way or another each situation will work itself out. I agree with you on the best way possible part.

I find the less I eat the better things get. The WD has taken leave for now. I think the nerves that suppress my interest in eating are causing a lot of gas that I usually don't have. I feel very odd because I would have thought additional stress would perpetuate continued or worsening D. I just dunno, haha. Not eating isn't the smartest idea since I'm concerned about the loss of muscle mass but on the flip side it's making it easier to eliminate more foods for the trial and error process!

On a better note for now- I have an appointment next week (finally) with a new family doctor to discuss my normal thyroid. I am hopeful she is willing to treat based on symptoms. Her nurse said she is open minded and was recommended to me by a co worker. Hopefully I'll have encouraging news to post instead of another grumble.

No, I knew it was from stress. But I figured, might as well make lemonade from lemons and try to find a possible food tormentor while you're at it.....

Stress is the worst!
