I need to take probiotics & Vitamins says the GI....help

OK so do I really need a probiotic? How about Colon Health? I have a couple bottles of that stuff. Does anyone know of a good probiotic to use, or if i really even need it? Ugh
As for the multi-vitamins, I know I need this. I hardly eat any veggies because they hurt me, and I know I am lacking the much needed vitamin sources.
Typically every day I eat, Rice chex cereal, almond or coconut milk, snack on potato or rice chips or yellow corn GF tortillas, cocunut yogurt and gf granola, lunches I always eat fish, turkey, chicken or beef cooked well and usually a rice or potato (sometimes sweet), and dinner rice noodle soup is my favorite, or more meat and more rice/potatoes..so im not getting those nutrients.
Plus side to all of this, I feel great and losing weight easy. So I'm going to stick with the same ole' type of diet.
Can anyone suggest a good vitamin and/or probiotic?

Theoretically, (according to the advisories that GI Specialists read), probiotics should be very beneficial for anyone who has an IBD. Unfortunately, in the real world, it typically doesn't work out that way. It turns out that according to our accumulated experience, probiotics are a very individual thing. many probiotics make many of us worse. For some, they don't seem to matter one way or the other. For a few, certain probiotics seem to be helpful.
The bottom line is that choosing one amounts to diarrhea roulette, and you might be able to find one that works for you, but the odds are stacked against that happening as long as you are still recovering. After you have been in remission long enough to have accumulated a significant amount of healing, then it will be much easier to find one that works well. Of course, at that point, you probably won't need one, so why spend the money?
As far as vitamins are concerned, we mostly need vitamin D3, B-12, and folic acid. And many of us are low on magnesium, but be careful with magnesium, because too much becomes a laxative. Freeda Vitamins is a good manufacturer of allergen-free vitamins, but there are other brands that work well, also. We just have to read the labels carefully.

I wish the same thing, because they keep jacking up the price of the prescription combination (I assume that you're referring to Metanx).
I've tried substituting OTC options, but it's a PITA because the individual dosages don't match up very well, so I had to adjust the dosages from day to day, in order to keep the 3 vitamins properly balanced.

The probiotic I take is called Bion Transit, sometimes (other brands) you can also see it under the name Bion Transfit. It is quite expensive here in Belgium, but worth it, at least, in my case. I also take colofiber (I had constipation and D, horrible!), this is not a probiotic. It actually regulates the bowel movement.
Since I've strated to take the colofiber, I haven't had any constipation anymore. I do get occasional D, but not like I used to have.
The probiotic and the colofiber are products from Belgium, I hope you can find it in America.

It doesn't matter how many times you fall, but how many times you get up en go for it again. HOPE !!!!
That is so right.
