Protein supplements...any brands that are good?

Post by Camie »

I need to increase my protein intake. I know that meat chicken fish etc are the way to go but right now I cannot tolerate the taste of any of these. As I said in a previous thread boost ensure etc are out .I just read about Raw Meal and some rave and some say it is horrible. Any suggestions? Thanks for you input.

Sunwarrior Classic Protein. Made from rice. If you can tolerate rice this is a good brand. It doesn't have a lot of other stuff in it that can cause problems. Sweetened with stevia.

Hi, I have been taking Raw Meal for a week and had no side effects. It does not use sucralose as a sweetner. It has Organic Sprouted Brown Rice Sweetener [ from organic sprouted brown rice ]. I bought the vanilla. I will continue usung it as a meal replacement as it provides 34 grams of protein. No protein from meats, fish or diary. It does contain " natto" that is made from fermented soy. Natto is the last ingredient on the long list. Jon

Jarrow makes a decent, affordable brown rice protein. I tolerated it fine.

Camie, I tried two varieties of rice protein early on, then a hemp, but couldn't tolerate any. I would suggest getting either a single packet or small container of whatever you might decide to try, as most are pretty pricey.

Camie...I can't tolerate rice protein, so I use Manitoba hemp powder 70. It has no fiber in it, and I tolerate it well. I make pancakes with it for breakfast.
